Quickly fit into the pre-existing standard lock cutout replacing my dead bolt. Instructions, both in the app and included are very concise and easy to follow but be prepared to spend some time on the setup. The lock seems to be operating as intended using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, touchpanel and actual key. My only issue is that it is quite loud when in motion. Thought someone was outside using a circular saw. Is this common? Am in the process of connecting it with my Google Home.

Many things that can go wrong, sabotage, or temporarily delay the complete installation of this Kwikset Halo deadbolt. For example, you may have an incorrect setting on your smartphone that won't allow your phone to "pair"it to the deadbolt. Or, you may have (added) an entry code using the wrong sequence & need to do a complete factor reset to default, etc. Call tech support. Be patient. Wait your turn in Que. I had to call Kwikset tech support 3-4 times. They were very helpful & great to deal with. Also, they have some "secrets" that they use that aren't in the instructions (or obvious) that they'll use to complete the installation when you are totally stumped.

I installed this on my own in 30 minutes it is a good idea to watch a few YouTube installations prior to installing this.

The lock fit well with my existing holes. I didn’t have to do anything special. The set up was easy and the connection to Alexa was a breeze. I’ve already used it with ease several times. So far no issues!

I installed this lock week ago and now it’s giving me this error every time I try to open with wifi or Bluetooth it won’t work. Big No to this product

I evaluated the available locks, the main benefit I wanted to maintain is one key for all locks. Kwikset Smart key maintains this. I had to drill the door out for this lock to be added and that went fairly smooth (if you don't chisel the bolt you have to order a drop in bolt from Kwikset) chiseling was a little sloppy but was ready to set up the lock quick and easy until the firm wear update, at the end it just froze I read this was an issue, so I was prepared. I watched a video on factory reset, quickly performed this and finished the set up. Yes, you need the app and an account and personal information. It was all pretty simple and easy to add users and operate after the install. Now just to find out battery life. It comes with Rayovac high energy batteries 4 AA.

We had to drive to 3 different home depots to track this lock, but it was totally worth it. Easy to install and sync to our phones (Android) . We were even able to link it to Google home. We're very happy with this purchase.

This lock was not so large due to no key pad. HARWARE Installation was easy. System set up took a few attempts. The only criticism is the sound is loud. My prior lock was a Eufy, and it was not so loud. The Kwickset app did not have great ratings, time will tell.

I wanted a easy access for my front door ,this is a great product had it installed in 1 hour and linked to the entire family no more keys to fumble with and live the smart key no locksmith required.

This was very easy to install. Easy to set up touch but right now I’m struggling with getting it to unlock when the door is actually closed. I think I might be able to get it to work but four stars just because of the struggle.

This lock is really nice, the San Clemente door handle set also accessorizes great with this lock. There are a couple of reasons why I held back from giving this lock a 5 star rating. 1.) They Key Pad is not very sensitive to wake up, sometimes you have to tap the lock pretty hard before it illuminates. 2.) The electric motor is pretty loud, and sounds cheap. 3.) In addition to being wi-fi compatible it would also be pretty cool to be Z-Wave compatible as well. Other than that we love this lock and don't have any issues with it keeping us safe. The issues I noted above are superficial, and if you can overlook those issues, you will love it as well. Just some constructive feedback for Kwikset towards making this a 5 star item for the masses!

This Smart Lock was easy to install similar to my ring doorbell. The satin nickle finish makes my front door look rich. I feel more sure secure knowing when my front door was locked or unlocked. Would definitely recommend this Halo Smart Lock!

Installation appeared to be easy as I had someone else, an experienced handyman, put the lock on. I downloaded the app, which is very user friendly, and programmed the lock. Start to finish less than an hour. I’m also pleased with the features and flexibility it gives me. The quality is excellent and the finish matches the door handle already on my door perfectly. My handle was installed a year ago.

The step by step installation guide through the app was great. The animations were helpful. I also liked how the box included smaller numbered boxes as you progressed through the install. I must admit I was originally looking to buy a third Schlage Encode smartlock but Home Depot was out of stock. I decided to try the Kwikset Halo. It seems to work just fine. My only complaints are that the mechanism is more noisey compare to the Schlage.

Easy to install and connect with wifi. App is easy to use to set lock codes for each family member as well guests. 2 keys for battery dead situation is added advantage. Remote locking via internet and Auto locking after preset time are amazing features especially when you are in a hurry.

DO NOT BUY ! WI-FI DOES NOT WORK ! KWIKSET KNOWS THIS AND IS HIDING THIS PROBLEM! You can’t goggle this issue because it’s being hidden , Did all resets ,called factory support ,STILL DON’T WORK …RETURNING !

I am not remotely handy and installed this myself in about an hour. The app was helpful with extra tips for install. Excited to see how it works out!

Fast installation, easy to get it setup and ready to work. I recommend this lock really amazing the wifi technology it have. I just have it for one week and I love it.

This lock was easy to install, hooked up to WiFi was flawless and paired to my phone was immediate, this lock works flawlessly and looks great an absolute great buy.

Installed, rekeyed this morning, in 40 minutes. Synced to Google Home. Recommend lithium batteries for smart locks to reduce replacements. So far, so good. Have to see if keypad holds up in sun and app continues to sync well. Now, everything is great.

The Kwikset Halo Keypad lock was easy to install and program. So far it works totally as expected. It is the perfect lock for my vacation rental as I can monitor battery life from a distance as issue different codes for various people who need access.

Easy install. It connected pretty fast to my WiFi and phone app. It also has the smart key feature which allows you re-key it to make it work with other door locks.

This lock was easy to install and program!! I was truly surprised at how easy it was to install and program the lock and program additional users and codes. I highly recommend this wifi enabled lock.

The good with this lock it works well as a basic keypad opening and locking lock. The installation process was average and is doable by someone with basic background. The App is easy to install and not bad to use and connect to your router wifi. The App works well initially when bluetooth installed and then wifi installed. You must be in the home to install the app which is an issue and a negative if you lose wifi connection. Mine has consistently lost wifi connection after a few days and I have had to go through the reconnection process with bluetooth. Again that works if you're at the home if like in my case I'm in another state for months that process doesn't work. I was told by support that you must use a specific router which is indicated on the box but I didn't notice that? I have Xfinity wifi and router that is not a preffered router, how can that be Xfinity is huge wifi and cable company. The last big issue is the battery life is very poor, new batteries last less than 2 months approximately. If your like me and away for 4-5 months at a time that doesn't work well. I like Kwikset products but can not recommend this product due to the issue with losing wifi connection and very poor battery life. Even of you use it as just the keypad you will have to change batteries often even with little use as mine is with me away. Maybe with firmware upgrades things will be better??????

It has a lot of step by step instructions which is rare these days. I love the lock, the look, the ease in setting up the codes. I was so excited i could even rekey the lock to the lock on the other door to just have one key for 2 diff locks. Made me feel great to do this myself as a 58 yr old female with severe disabilities using my arms and hands. A must buy for homeowners.

can't even set the app to unlock when your in proximity. guides are trash. the lock itself works ok. looks nice. you can set everything up on your own phone, you have to sign into your account on everyone else's phones in order to allow them to use the app and set up code. why have a schedule if everyone has access anyways?
