Nice lock
This lock was easy to install and works great! I only had a couple issues. You have to set up a 2.4G wireless SSID, will not find 5G, likely because you get greater distance with 2.4G. Also the App would not work when I left my home even though the app showed the lock was connected to my wireless and the cloud. I finally power cycled my phone and that resolved that issue.

Super happy with this product!
Whoever wrote the step-by-step installation guide should be given a promotion and a raise! As someone who works in marketing, I know how important clear product instructions are-this was the best installation experience I’ve ever had. I guarantee I would have given up (I’m not the handiest woman) if not for that guide being so helpful and thorough. Great experience and product so far!

Great Functioning Lock
I purchased this door lock based on two important criteria: 1) my wife's insisting on being able to remotely lock or unlock our front door when we are not at home 2) this being a Kwikset so that that I rekey this lock to match my other doors. On account of both criteria, this lock passes with flying colors.
I do like the feature that you can store up to 250 passcodes and associate those to specific individuals as well as limit the duration of when the passcodes work.

Halo Installation
The door lock installation and application setup went fairly easily and it works fine remotely, which is why I purchased the product (grandma was leaving the house unlocked).
My only difficulty was getting the lock to fit into the door jamb without registering an error. Once I enlarged the hole with a chisel it locked correctly. Good product and support but it is expensive. Hopefully, the batteries stay charged for a good length of time.

Love the convenience!
Easy install. Just a couple of extra steps compared to a standard deadbolt due to the inside of the door parts. My wife and I love the convenience of the one button locking. We are frequently out on our property and no longer have to be concerned with remembering to grab a key before leaving the house.

Great lock
The lock and handle were super easy to install. The only hang up was with the Kwik Set app. That was overcome with a 3 minute call to tech support.

Quick and easy
I thought that it would be an all day project to install. NOT, went to the Kwikset website, select the model all the instructions come up, very easy to understand and follow. Then it came time to set up the app, easy step by step, it took me longer to remember my router password then it took to set up and pair to my phone. The app is easy to use and change settings or pass codes. The instructions that came with the lock assembly were good but easier to follow along on the website.

Updated firmware sept 2022..makes
Better battery life.. yes i was buying lithium energizer would last 60 days and be depleted. And it was only me using door. Twice a day. Come in go out for work.. no more. But i hope kwikset fixed this problem.. i suggest they make one for rechargeable batteries with a solar front cover. To keep batteries charged.. idea 💡 i too had hard time fingerprints reading. But my son show me .if u do it like your phone finger print steps it works better. And it worked. it works evertime.Tech is patience

Exactly what I wanted.....
I had to drill my door jam out a little bit so the deadbolt would extend fully, for the best result. Downloaded the app, followed the strip by step instructions. So easy. Now I don't have to give my grandkid a key to take to school, that she might lose. Even if she loses her phone, she had her own code. I love this lock!!!

Halo WiFi Smart Lock
The Halo we purchased was one of the few that had WiFi without needing an Alexa or Google device. The install worked well. The worst part was having to drill a new deadbolt and strike hole. Kwikset should consider making one of these with WiFi and a doorknob as part of the unit.

66 year old woman installed!
I bought this Halo touchscreen with no expectation that I would be able to install this.Being curious, I decided to try. The old opening was same size.
So I followed the instructions (provided on bar code) I had it installed in about 20 minutes. The pairing instructions were just as clear. Created account, added users & pass codes, tested the lock w/ the app and even re-keyed it to my existing key. It is perfect. Battery life? Don't know, as it is new. I'll post again if it is a battery eater.

So far loving it
It's been less than a month, but so far we're loving it. Not have to carry around and use a key is the best feature. No issues with the physical installation. Straight forward - pretty much the same as installing a regular deadbolt. We've had no issues with the lock driving the deadbolt. Love having different codes for different people. The reason it's getting a 4 instead of a 5 is that we had some issues Kwickset software during the setup process. It kept telling is to add the lock, then complained that we couldn't add it becasue it was already there. We had to fiddle and try it several times, but finally got it programmed.

Easy setup. Not cheap.
Quickly fit into the pre-existing standard lock cutout replacing my dead bolt. Instructions, both in the app and included are very concise and easy to follow but be prepared to spend some time on the setup.
The lock seems to be operating as intended using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, touchpanel and actual key. My only issue is that it is quite loud when in motion. Thought someone was outside using a circular saw. Is this common?
Am in the process of connecting it with my Google Home.

Good Product but...
Many things that can go wrong, sabotage, or temporarily delay the complete installation of this Kwikset Halo deadbolt. For example, you may have an incorrect setting on your smartphone that won't allow your phone to "pair"it to the deadbolt. Or, you may have (added) an entry code using the wrong sequence & need to do a complete factor reset to default, etc.
Call tech support. Be patient. Wait your turn in Que. I had to call Kwikset tech support 3-4 times. They were very helpful & great to deal with. Also, they have some "secrets" that they use that aren't in the instructions (or obvious) that they'll use to complete the installation when you are totally stumped.

Fits Well
The lock fit well with my existing holes. I didn’t have to do anything special. The set up was easy and the connection to Alexa was a breeze. I’ve already used it with ease several times. So far no issues!

I installed this lock week ago and now it’s giving me this error every time I try to open with wifi or Bluetooth it won’t work. Big No to this product

We are here to help! To maintain your Halo lock online, please follow these steps:
1. Ensure your router is approximately 100 feet away from the lock.
2. Make sure that only one user is logged into the same Kwikset app account. Click here for details on how to share the Home with other users: https://www.kwikset.com/support/answers/how-do-i-share-a-home-using-the-kwikset-app
3. Remove the batteries from the lock, reinsert them, and refresh the Kwikset app. (This establishes a new connection with the cloud). Force close the app when not in use.
4. Check your phone's Bluetooth list and ensure the lock is listed. If not, repair the lock via Bluetooth on the Kwikset app.

Easy to key to match your other locks
I evaluated the available locks, the main benefit I wanted to maintain is one key for all locks. Kwikset Smart key maintains this. I had to drill the door out for this lock to be added and that went fairly smooth (if you don't chisel the bolt you have to order a drop in bolt from Kwikset) chiseling was a little sloppy but was ready to set up the lock quick and easy until the firm wear update, at the end it just froze I read this was an issue, so I was prepared. I watched a video on factory reset, quickly performed this and finished the set up. Yes, you need the app and an account and personal information. It was all pretty simple and easy to add users and operate after the install. Now just to find out battery life. It comes with Rayovac high energy batteries 4 AA.

We had to drive to 3 different home depots to track this lock, but it was totally worth it. Easy to install and sync to our phones (Android) . We were even able to link it to Google home. We're very happy with this purchase.

Keyless access
This lock was not so large due to no key pad. HARWARE Installation was easy. System set up took a few attempts. The only criticism is the sound is loud. My prior lock was a Eufy, and it was not so loud. The Kwickset app did not have great ratings, time will tell.

Easy of installation
I wanted a easy access for my front door ,this is a great product had it installed in 1 hour and linked to the entire family no more keys to fumble with and live the smart key no locksmith required.

Looks great!
This was very easy to install. Easy to set up touch but right now I’m struggling with getting it to unlock when the door is actually closed. I think I might be able to get it to work but four stars just because of the struggle.

Great Lock & Functionality
This lock is really nice, the San Clemente door handle set also accessorizes great with this lock. There are a couple of reasons why I held back from giving this lock a 5 star rating.
1.) They Key Pad is not very sensitive to wake up, sometimes you have to tap the lock pretty hard before it illuminates.
2.) The electric motor is pretty loud, and sounds cheap.
3.) In addition to being wi-fi compatible it would also be pretty cool to be Z-Wave compatible as well.
Other than that we love this lock and don't have any issues with it keeping us safe. The issues I noted above are superficial, and if you can overlook those issues, you will love it as well. Just some constructive feedback for Kwikset towards making this a 5 star item for the masses!

My Smart Lock
This Smart Lock was easy to install similar to my ring doorbell. The satin nickle finish makes my front door look rich. I feel more sure secure knowing when my front door was locked or unlocked. Would definitely recommend this Halo Smart Lock!

Kwikset Locked
Installation appeared to be easy as I had someone else, an experienced handyman, put the lock on. I downloaded the app, which is very user friendly, and programmed the lock. Start to finish less than an hour. I’m also pleased with the features and flexibility it gives me. The quality is excellent and the finish matches the door handle already on my door perfectly. My handle was installed a year ago.
