Beautiful update to our front door
This was an impromptu purchase we made while at Home Depot picking up items for our bathroom remodel and we could not be happier. The door handle is beautiful! We ended up also purchasing the Kwikset SmartCode deadbolt. Both were easy for my husband to install, however, the strike plate is larger than standard size so we opted to keep our existing one so we didn't have to notch out more of the door jam to accommodate a larger plate.

I just needed to get your attention.
OK. It's really a 4 5- star item but I wanted to get your attention.
1. The instructions are for both the handle set and the set with the dead bolt too. There are steps in the instructions that are only for the deadbolt and there is no statement that they many not apply, like "if included". You may be looking for parts you don't have. For example the deadbolt (top latch) calls out the latch but yours will not look like it and you could think you are missing a part. The template for drilling the bottom hole is for a full set and has TWO 2 1/8 holes in the top. Choose the wrong one and you will drill in the WRONG LOCATION.
2. If you already have separate handle and a deadbolt holes in your door you may be in trouble. If the deadbolt was installed with a prior existing door latch the necessary vertical clearance may be insufficient for your new deadbolt. I lucked out. The just cleared each other so that the exterior looks like one piece. it was that close!
But it works and looks great.
