This hammer drill is compact and has 750 inch pounds of torque. I have several impacts and batteries already so the hammer drill was a good choice although I would have liked it in a package deal with battery and charger.

Biggest piece of Cr@p on the planet!
Torque limiter keeps shutting drill down while drilling through metal. Collar selector has no definite position between drilling/hammer drilling/clutch numbering. Reposition selector collar while drilling. Milwaukee going Very cheap on this issue but charging high dollar. Worst buy of my life!

Light, compact and powerful. Perfect replacement for my 17yo Milwaukee drill/driver that finally just died, as it fits into my old hardshell Milwaukee case.

    The Milwaukee wobble....again
I got this one to replace one that wobbles. The drill being replaced was not right. It vibrated, especially when drilling metal. At first it seemed as if the drill bit was bent so i changed bits. The vibration would be the same, no change. After changing the bits a few times with the same results, I had to look closer. It's not obvious, I really had to look close to see it. Either something is bent, or something wasn't machined properly. Being curious, I dug deeper. I changed drills to an older (not Milwaukee) extra one, and behold, the vibration smoothed out. What a disappointment. Did I bend or somehow damage the Milwaukie drill? I'm not perfect, maybe I dropped it? So I order a new one. The new one does the same thing. So, if your holes drift off center, you break a bit or two, and drilling isn't smooth look at the drill. I'm just one of many who have reported this problem. Check for yourself. It seems most people give up and change brands of power tools. That's my solution too. Just because it costs more doesn't make it better!

    Highly Recommended
Im very confident with saying that i would recommend this tool to anyone looking for the Quality, Performance, and Value. After having numerous Milwaukee products throughout the past Decade, Im a big fan and have M18 and M12 products. The only disappointment i have is that I cannot own more tools like this one.

    0/3 with Milwaukee Kit
I am a DIY homeowner and bought a three piece tool kit that included a M18 hammer drill, impact driver, and circular saw. In less than a month, the impact stopped working, swapped it out where I bought the kit. Less than three months later, the circular saw trigger stopped working and again, the local store swapped it out. Now, ten months into owning this kit and the hammer drill trigger stopped working. So, back to the local store to swap it out and they said you need to send it in for repair. I completed the process to send the hammer drill in for repair, so we shall see if Milwaukee stands behind their tools. Pretty disappointed at this point with Milwaukee but I am to invested with their line to swap; for now. The tools all had very little use and were not abused or neglected by any means as you can see in the photos. Three tools in a kit, and all three failed in less than a year with minimal use. You pay a premium for what you think will be premium tools, and this has been a major let down.

This is my first Milwaukee tool and so far I'm impressed. The thing about cordless power tools is that unless I have problems with a particular brand, I typically stay with that brand. I have accumulated a large collection of cordless tools with of a different brand, so switching is not an easy thing to do. When I got this drill, I was pretty impressed with the build quality and the weight of it. Brushless is also the only way to go in my opinion when talking about cordless tools. When I opened this up, I was pleased to find that both batteries were roughly 75% charged especially since i was working on putting up some railings in my garage for storage. For a hammer drill I didnt find this as powerful as I would have liked, but I was able to drive some lag bolts into a stud, but it took longer than my Dewalt brushless drill. I was impressed that although I drove in roughly 5 lag bolts and probably 40-50 screws, the battery was still had three lights on the battery. Im not sure of the battery life, but so far it seems to be pretty good. One feature that really stuck out for me was the handle attachment. Unlike my other hammer drills, the handle was much easier to attach to the Milwaukee. I always hated having to pull the handle through the front of the drill and lock into place by lining everything up just right. With this attachment, you loosen the top of the handle enough to slide it on top of the drill and then tighten it up. So much easier. Another nice feature is the charger. It can charge both M18 and M12 batteries. This is a nice touch if you own other Milwaukee products. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this drill and would consider more of their products for future purchases.

**This is a high quality drill in a great kit that becomes an even better value the more that you need/want the batteries** A few thoughts on each individual item: The carrying case is made of a heavy duty plastic with durable locking tabs. It holds everything well and ensures no damage is done during transport. A hole for a lock is included if needed. I tend to leave my drills laying around the shop but this is great for a jobsite. You get the multi-volt rapid charger here. No corners cut with the charger and I appreciate that as well as the ability to refill my m12 batteries. The included 4ah batteries are right about in the middle when looking at m18 batteries. Milwaukee has higher capacities and while more generally is better it also means bigger. I personally don’t want to lug around a drill with an enormous battery so the 4ah is a good match. The side handle for the drill is really well done. It attaches easily, locks in firm, and does not twist or warp under torque at all. It is a solid piece. Build quality of the drill is excellent. I especially like how compact it is. The entirety of the ½ in. chuck is metal and ratcheting feels good. It grips bits firm and I found no issues. Trigger, variable speed, and forward/lock/reverse are all smooth and responsive. Speed 1-2 was a little stiff but eased up when breaking in and the 18 speed dial clicks and sets great. I initially didn’t like the shift to drill/hammer mode. It doesn't lock into place like the rest of the dial but in the end I found it acceptable. Realistically you're not switching to hammer very often and the change to drilling feels just fine after using it. Rubber overmold and the plastics are top notch and what you would expect. A strong belt clip is included. Performance wise the drill with the included batteries met and exceeded my expectations. I saw almost no runout and was able to put it thru the ringer without a single electronic shut off. It did get a little hot though. The clutch worked well in all applications. Driving screws was a non issue. 3in. deck screws went into both hard and softwoods quickly and with little effort. You could certainly drive deck screws all day long if you wanted to. Drilling was equally as smooth. No issues putting holes into whatever wood or sheet metal I wanted. This drill is fast and torquey, when you need it. I took the hole saw all the way up to 5 in. and was really impressed at the speed and sturdiness with the handle. Hammer mode worked just as great. No trouble putting up to 5/16th holes into concrete. I’d want a rotary if I was doing all day masonry, but this drill is definitely up to the task when you need it. All in all I was not left wanting more out of this drill. Run time is a little hard to pinpoint but I will say I couldn’t kill one of the included 4ah batteries after 5 hours of heavy use. I put together two large cabinets in addition to the above testing and more in a single day and still had plenty juice to spare. If it isn’t an all day battery with one, it’s definitely way more than enough with the two. You really can tell the difference when it comes to run time with brushless tools. Which leads me to who I think this kit is for. I think this is a great entry into the m18 line of tools with everything that is included. With this kit it would be easy to branch off and buy bare tools as you need them. Additionally this could be a good value for those just looking to add some batteries and a nice drill to their arsenal. Weather you are the contractor/job site type or a DIY I believe this kit will get plenty of work done and is worth the look as long as your willing to pay the premium.

I was first introduce to the Milwaukee M18 series of tools at work as these are what is purchased by my employer. When I saw the Milwaukee M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 1/2 in. Compact Hammer Drill/Driver Kit with (2) 4.0Ah Batteries & Hard Case being offered I knew I had to have it. It is rated best power in class and really packs a punch for a drill so compact. I hate to let a perfectly good drill sit on the shelf collecting dust so I still occasionally use my DeWalt. More times than I can recall I have had to grab the Milwaukee to finish a job that the DeWalt could not. The batteries seem to last forever. I am constantly checking the battery status thinking "it must be about time to change it" only to see all of the lights lit up. I seriously believe that if I ever wanted to build a house off-the-grid, with no power available, I could take the two included batteries along and still have juice remaining after the job was done. I am completely sold on the M18 series tools. They are solidly built, including this drill, and the variety of options available that all use the same battery is mind boggling. I am glad to add this drill to my slowly growing M18 collection and I know what I will be buying people for Christmas so they will stop asking to use mine.

Superb power to weight ratio. The battery lasts a long time, although it rattles a bit when its attached to the tool. Not a big deal just a bit annoying. There also isn't a confirming click between the regular and hammer drill modes (also not a big deal just an annoyance). Overall it's probably the best hammer drill you could get in this price range. It will easily drill a 2 1/2" hole with a hole saw and will not slow down no matter how hard you push.

I am very impressed with this cordless drill. I like that it comes with two batteries. Though the batteries are quite potent, it's always good to have an extra battery as hammer drills need sufficient power to drill into masonry. It is brush-less which makes it longer lasting. The case is a plus, I've purchased other power tools and many don't come with a case. The drill effortlessly made holes in concrete because of the hammer feature. It's not as heavy or loud as other corded drills. Great addition to my tools! Works great for drilling other materials also. Comes with a handle and also has a light to help you see where you are drilling.

I have been using cordless tools for years and this by far is the best. The hard case protects your investment. The drill offers so many settings to fit the project you are working on. Powerful for tough jobs such as drilling concrete & metal. It comes with a quick connect side handle to make drilling more comfortable on large projects. Two 4.0 batteries are included along with a charger that you can wall mount to save room on your workbench. The batteries hold the charge to keep power flowing. I like the feature of being able to check the remaining power of the battery so there is no guess work as to when re-charging is needed. The drill is a bit heavy but the extra weight is worth it to have a POWERFUL tool.

This is an excellent package for any DIYer or professional! The hammer drill is powerful and quick! When you hold this power tool you can feel the quality by the weight and how solid this drill feels. The chuck is all metal, not plastic like other name brand tools sometimes offer on DIY level tools. The drill runs a very very long time with one 4.0ah battery but this kit includes two batteries. The included charger will charge your M18 batteries and M12 batteries at the same time. So if you have other tools from Milwaukee you can save space and time by only using one charger. I am very happy with the quality and performance of this power tool. I also have the M18 FUEL hammer drill and this one performs any task I have used it on, just as good. This one is slightly smaller and feels better balanced in your hand. The included storage and carry case is rugged and the latches are strong.

Talk about powerful drills, this is one. The advertised 725 lbs of torque is for real. Had to rebuild a couple of old battery boxes off of a tractor. It drilled 10 holes through heavy metal with no let up or battery change. I have a ½” corded hammer drill for drilling concrete, this drill seems to have just as much power, it drilled the same holes, same amount of time. The power/torque and battery life make this one a winner.

Milwaukee = Quality, Durability, Power. Milwaukee is that player that is setting the standard when it comes to power tools. Everything from the design to the quality of materials to the durability of the tool. I work at a very large property that requires an 18 man, full time maintenance team. We strictly use Milwaukee cordless power tools because all other brands that we have used just do not last. With that said, lets move onto the drill at hand. This drill is easy to use. Its mult-functional for the every day professional tradesman to the home DIYer. Its lightweight, the materials are bright red and black and durable. You can adjust the torque and the speed depending on the job that your using it for as well. The battery comes with an LED display that tells you how much charge its holding. It comes with a charger and 2 batteries all in a nice carrying case. The drill also has a bright white LED light to help you see when applying the trigger. The keyless chuck works great and grips any bit like shark and it wont let go. Once you go with this brand... You will feel the difference and see the results! The perfect drill for any business or home.

This drill comes with two batteries, which is great, so you can always have a spare battery with you. It also comes with a really nice plastic carrying case. The case is large enough to fit everything in there which is good, but I would prefer a smaller case that doesn’t have a spot for the charger because it would be easier to store and carry. If I have two batteries I don’t think I need to carry the charger with me. I could see if you were out at a job site all day using it maybe you would want the batteries and the charger in that case. I normally store my drill in my tool bag so a smaller case would be better for me. This drill is expensive but it appears to be well made, it is also a hammer drill and it comes with two batteries, a charger, a side handle and a case. The side handle is easy to take on and off. This is handy if you need to brace the drill while drilling a large hole. This is quite a bit louder than my other cordless drills. Maybe it is because it is a hammer drill. When you turn it to the hammer drill setting it is really noisy once you start drilling. You definitely want ear defenders for that. It is a lot quieter when drilling in non-hammer mode. This drill will take up to a ½ inch drill shaft. My old drill would only take up to 3/8 so this is an improvement. The battery is larger which makes the whole tool heavier but hopefully it will last longer. The battery and charger also have good indicators to show how much charge is in the battery and when the battery is fully charged. The instructions say in multiple places that you should take the battery out before you put in a new drill or screwdriver bit. That seems overly cautious and I’m sure no one will follow those instructions. I’m focusing on Milwaukee tools because they are good tools and also because I have quite a few Milwaukee batteries so I can use them between the different tools. It is too bad that all the different manufacturers have different batteries but as long as they do I’ll focus on one brand. I now have a Milwaukee drill, I just bought a Milwaukee blower and I already have a Milwaukee reciprocating saw, a blue tooth speaker, a work light and even Milwaukee work gloves. I think they should send me a t-shirt too! In summary this drill/driver kit appears to me to be a really good product, but as is typical with good tools it is not cheap.
