A:  i just received my order and as noted in the description for 48-20-9057 and shown in the photos, it comes with single-sided hard case designed for use in PACKOUT. Maybe the ones who got the other plastic case are based of older version.

I bought this drill bit set mainly for the drill bits, but as an added bonus a case is displayed as part of the product. Upon delivery, it turns out NO case is included. Feeling kind of cheated into buying this set with a picture of the case that is actually not included. The drill bits themselves are worth every penny.

                Only 5 Holes
I thought the price was fairly reasonable until I was only able to drill 5 holes with a given drill bit. I was drilling into ceramic tile to install grab bars in a new walk in shower. I started with a small drill bit (5/32) then increased the size to (3/16) then to 1/4. After 5 holes I had to start with the 3/16 which then after a couple holes I had to use the 1/4" drill bit only. I was using a 10 amp hammer drill. I would have thought I would get more use out of the drill bits.

                  Impossible packaging
Packaging is a nightmare to open. My drill bits came in a hard transparent plastic box that was molded shut. Had to use a rotary tool to cut it open.

I’m highly impressed with this 7 piece carbide hammer drill set by Milwaukee. They cut into material amazingly well and and I believe you can’t find better hammer drill bits at this price. I used a 1/4 in. Impact driver for testing and can confirm these bits work great in it. Don’t just take my word for it. Watch the video. I also tested these bits on concrete block, brick, and slab. No noticeable wear was noted on the bits. The biggest bit in the set also cut through concrete block super fast (10seconds) Note that the manufacturer recommends not using this drill bit sit with an impact driver on concrete.

I have already used these bits drilling into a concrete floor and a concrete block wall to provide anchors for wood, one as a base for a laundry sink and the other as a wall attachment for a water softener. They quickly made accurately sized holes 2-2 ½ inches deep. They come in a handy case that protects the bits and makes it easy to find the correct bit size. The base of the bits is sized for standard impact driver of hammer drills. After four 3/8” holes in concrete block and four 5/32” holes in a concrete floor neither bit showed any signs of wear. Any time you need to make a hole in concrete, these are the bits to have.

This Milwaukee 7-piece carbide hammer drill bit kit is remarkable. First off I love the fact that these bits have the 1/4" hex shank on the bottom of them so they don't slip in your hammer drill chuck when drilling. My old bit set would sit and spin inside the chuck when it bound up and I was always having to grip the chuck as hard as I could to get them to stop spinning. The next best thing about these bits is that they don't seem to "walk" near as bad as my old set. They also have wide flutes on the tips so that there is a lot less dust inside the hole while drilling so you're not constantly blowing out the hole. I recently installed a Cat 6a cable from my router in the living room to the master bedroom upstairs and I had to run the cable along my foundation outside of the house. These bits made drilling the few holes I needed a lot easier and faster. This kit comes with 1/8", 5/32", 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8" & 1/2" hammer drill bits. This is pretty much every size I could possibly need for doing work around the house. Whether you are a homeowner or a general contractor this set is perfect and you should get years of use out of these bits depending on how often you use them. There is one slight negative about this product and that is because I couldn't figure out how to open the packaging. I originally ran an x-acto knife down the sides thinking it would open like a book. When that didn't work I ran my hand all over the packaging and found that the top half slides down over the lower half. I then ran my x-acto knife all around the packaging and separated the two halves that way. Thought I would mention that in case anyone else gets stumped by the packaging the way I did.

This is another high quality products by Milwaukee tools. I wanted some upgraded bits for drilling into cinderblock for a masonry project. The variety of sized bits is great and each have a hex base and are about 4 inches in length. I used this on my first project and it cut through the block easily and cleanly. The bits are very solid and appear to be forged out of high quality materials. This is a very nice set I am very pleased with the quality and performance of these bits.

The complete set. The set has hex drive for the medium hammer drive drills. Not SDS. Milwaukee p/n 48-20-9057 Impact driver rated and very durable. Includes 1/8 in.-very stable 2 ½ inch depth, 5/32 in. 3/16 in. 1/4 in. 5/16 in. 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. that have an effective cut of 4 inches except the 1/8”. There is another kit with longer 1/8” bit, but my experience is that the long bit is fragile at small diameter. Claims extended 5X life over others and they cut concrete very well. 2X into Masonry. Faster with the new bit over my old ones. Concrete Blocks are easy to drill. If given enough time to cut into the cinder block there were no cracked blocks. The blocks are easy to cut into. Older concrete is an easy cut and the dust/debris just needs to be blown or sucked out to get quick finishing. Very wide fluted tip clears dust quickly. Laser etched size markings make easy ID size view.

This set of seven Milwaukee carbide hammer drill bits is a very high quality set that will last a lifetime! The set comes in a nice, clear plastic case which keeps your bits organized (see picture). The case also has charts which explain recommended drill speeds and settings for both hammer drills or drivers as well as impact drivers (see picture). Milwaukee has thought of everything! Each bit has its size marked at its hexagonal base (see picture). The tips are well formed (see picture), and all are 6 inches in length, and they are just right for drilling into concrete, concrete block, and brick. The set ranges in size from 1/8 inch to ½ inch so you should be able to find the right bit for your effort in this set (see picture of full range of sizes). I highly recommend this Milwaukee carbide hammer drill bit set!

These are really good concrete bits. We needed to drill holes in old concrete to install a new handrail and these do that easily. My real problem with them is the packaging. I admit I have poor eyes, but I could find no way at all to get into the package until I used a pocket knife and started cutting through it. I had no idea it splits in the middle. I'm very pleased now that I finally got it open.
