Purchased this generator about 3 years ago, have started it a few times since then but have never used it for anything. Now it doesn’t stay running. These things are absolute junk. The fact that I paid $800 for something to be this poor quality is absurd. I will NEVER buy another Ryobi product nor recommend to anyone again. New spark plug, new fuel filter and now currently trying to clean the carburetor (can’t find a replacement that fits this model, I have already bought two that dont work…)

Generator seems good but even a minor issue I have to pay for myself even under warranty get it together home Depot

It never worked , had to take back to the store the same day it was purchased. The store didn’t have another to swap it for.

Not as quiet as “Super Quiet” but meets the power requirements needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m glad I purchased this generator. You can’t tell it’s running , very quiet. Powered refrigerator and lights and a fan. No issues at all. I love that it has wheels for portability.

The generator meets our needs and works well. It received great reviews from other customers and is why we purchased it. We needed something for power when we are away from normal electrical sources and this is it. The display is easy to read and provides accurate info about its level of use and current fuel amount. Highly recommend for camping and other outdoor uses.

Easy to setup. Oil was a little difficult to add. Might raise the oil input port or extend the oil input tube. Very quiet and started right up.

This generator is used when solar is not available for our remote buildings. It has been excellent even with excessive use this past summer. Be sure to not allow to run for long period when temperature outside is high, make sure the oil is at expected level, and do an oil change between seasons. We have been running lights, computers, cameras safely for two summers. Great for the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Once it's running, it's nice and quiet. The Bluetooth connectivity and the app she great features. Shows the wattage being drawn, fuel level, remaining runtime estimate. Allows you to shutdown or schedule a shutdown. The only thing better would be remote start. BUT... On cold start, it takes some fiddling to be able to put a load on it right away. A combination of playing with the auto idle button, overload reset button, and switching back and forth between choke. Once it warms up it's fine. The think that makes me want to return it is the fact that it has NEVER been able to support the advertised load of 1800 running watts. Using the app to monitor wattage, it'll overload on anything over 1500 watts. Occasionally it'll run for a bit at a little over 1500. Sometimes it'll overload at 14xx watts, even fully warmed up. I've tried to slowly push it by slowly increasing the load, and I feel it'll NEVER support an 1800 watt load. Disappointing.

Tested unit new out of box ran fine. Tried starting it at a later date and will not start virtually no hours on it still new will not start. Piece of junk

Bought two over the last few years for off grid cabin. They are loud and shaky when using, they do not last long. Wouldn’t buy again get a Honda

I use this generator for many hrs every year and never skips a beat..its reliable, fuel efficient small, quiet and not too heavy..i bring it out on my boat to use to keep the batteries charged and fridge running while anchored. It runs my coffee maker and oven no problem but the ac it won't run when the auto idle is on..will run it when its off but then it won't be that fuel efficient and quiet and i only use the ac if i stay the night out on it..

Almost every tool I own is a Ryobi. I usually love them. We bought this so my wife had back up power, I was working out of town a lot. This generator never ran right. Ryobi keeps having me ship it to repair centers and it never gets fixed. I've had this for 2 years, and haven't been able to use it for 5 minutes. I've had to buy other generators because I NEED one.

This generator ran great. Still does. The problem with this generator is the 220 plug. There is no cord available for using this generator as a backup generator for your house. Why Ryobi did not put the standard 4 prog outlet on this is beyond stupid! This was the only generator HD had in stock at the time.

Have only used one time for a tailgate but so far so good.

The Irony, I got this brand, because it was at my price range, now i have expended the money and do not have the generator. The first time this thing was great, i was thinking all the negative reviews were wrong, We ran a few things and it did what we needed it to do, but a couple of weeks later, it would not start, i have not been able to start it again. Safe your self the headache and get something else.

The generator is eaay to start, has a useful bluetooh app tp help monitor and keep track pf the generator's fuel and powrr output. Its easy to transport with buold in wheels and telescopic handle. Buttons are labeled and clearly defined.

I have tried two different appliances that pull around 1500 watts and the generator shuts down once they are turned on. The generator will not run a Keurig Single Cup coffee maker stamped on the bottom of the coffee maker at 1470 watts. I tried a space heater that shows 1500 watts and it shuts the generator down. This generator is rated at 1800 running watts. I tried a crock pot that pulls around 400 watts and it shows two bars and kicks the generator up to high idle. RYOBI Support VERY SLOW.

Recommend you buy a Honda had too many problems with this ryobi generator No customer service people you can get ahold of to troubleshoot it

Working good so far I have used it three time on a job.

My new unit would not start after 50 pulls. It was very frustrating. I contacted Ryobi and they offered several solutions, none of which worked. Ryobi then offered to send me a new unit which arrived in about a week. The new unit works perfectly and is very quiet and powerful. There may be defective parts in some Ryobi products as there is in all brands. But Ryobi stood by their product full stop and I will continue to use and recommend Ryobi all products.

Have this generator for about 4 years now… it’s always something with it. Carburetors, gaskets, etc. Give me a few headaches… I’m about to sell it to whoever pays.
