Very quiet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago and I'm so glad I did. Not to heavy and small enough to not take up a lot of space.

QUIET!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as a way to power a pitching machine for the kids when we take it to the park. After hearing it run, I also feel like we could take it to the campground and not bother any other campers. I was looking at the red brand, but after reading reviews online, comparing the 2 side by side on specs, and my love for Ryobi tools, I decided on this one and saved some money. The bluetooth was super easy to set up and the readings on the app are great. The readout on the front of the generator is very clear and gives you a lot of info - in real time. Highly recommend anyone looking at the other brand to compare the 2, and consider saving yourself some money. This one is just as good - if not better.

    Constantly ices up carb
I use this gen frequently in 20-40F temperatures, and when I use it in these temps it constantly ices up its carburetor and runs horribly (runs like the choke is still on, and it’s not) I have to let it run like this for 10 minutes to warm up, turn it off and let it sit for 10 minutes so that heat can thaw the carb, then usually it’s ok for the rest of its session. Also tends to stall when starting large loads (that it should be able to handle).

      Great for a small generator!
Super portable, have had ours for a couple years now and it saved us a few times. Quiet when on idle mode, but not real loud when running wide open either. Basement was flooding 2x when we lost power and we ran the sump, charged phones, and ran a lamp and our fridge off this. Note that sumps are high draw when the first kick on so if on idle mode it bogs and doesn't adjust quick enough and will shut off under the load. To fix this we just turn the fuel saving idle mode off and run wide open.

        low output
My nephew is service center for these things. I thought by now the output problems had been corrected. But mine never ran over about 1375w and will not power anything. I never ran it until the two year mark. When I discovered the issue I thought I was sliding in a month late but I actually had three years warranty. It didn't matter because I never got a response. And now I will be out $150 bucks if I choose to take the chance on fixing it. Now I understand why so many places stay away from them.

I would not purchase this again
This generator/inverter is loud. I will not use it in a Campground. It's 85lb dry weight. Don't plan on putting it in the back of your truck because it's not something that someone with weight restrictions can lift. We are without power & have been for almost 12 hours. It's sitting outside and I can hear it perfectly. 11

            Great generator for the price
If you want the absolute best small generator, get a Honda. Nothing else will beat them. However for a significantly cheaper price, this has been a great gen. I was initially concerned with the CO detect, as with ANY small gen in subzero temps I put a blanket over it (except the exhaust of course) to keep the PCV from freezing up. No issues though. Started with 12 pulls at -27* F. The timer, remote shutdown, fuel level, load and runtime in the remote control app are all very handy.

                Do not waste your money
I purchased the 2000 watt model of this generator and it is garbage. The original one purchased never worked out of the box. I took it to an authorized service center and they had to argue with Ryobi warranty over a month in order to get me a new generator. Finally I received the new one and after 4 hours of use it will no longer work either. Considering Ryobi doesn’t offer the 2000 watt generator any more it leads me to believe they knew this product was junk. Do not waste your money!

Works great and quiet to run!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed power for our business float in the Christmas parade and after trying multiple options (6 to be exact) we finally decided to get this generator. It wasn’t too expensive and is easy to move. And worked great as it was easy to start and isn’t very loud. Since then have used it multiple times with the most recent being used to run my air compressor to help someone air up their tire close to my place. Highly recommend

                    Excellent generator
I purchased this to power Christmas lights for use in a Lighted Christmas parade/float in our town. The generator was easy to start and ran like a champ. Most recently, I used it to power a skill saw on our property where no 110 power exists. Again, it powered the saw without issues.

Bought the generator when I was in a pinch, needing one for a camping weekend. Was skeptical, reading reviews, I bought it anyways. Took the generator to the campsite and filled it up with fuel immediately fuel started pouring out from the generator Upon inspection, I found the fuel inlet to the shut off valve had a split line on the fuel tank. With limited resources, it was difficult to try to get to the fuel inlet hose to attempt to stop the fuel from leaking everywhere ended up cutting my hand open to attempt. I had to tilt the generator on its side and finally was able to get the fuel line off the fuel tank. Then proceeded to reinstall fuel line, but found, the hose barb on the tank was much larger than the fuel line. Seems as if it was a manufacturer issue too large of a hose barb for the fuel line size. Was finally able to get it installed enough to try to start it. Of course, this was after putting oil in it. I suspect oil leak past the rings because the generator would barely run after trying to get the fuel to stop, gave up and went and bought a different generator Took it back the next morning. Maybe there is another out there with the same issue. I could only suspect so. I wouldn’t trust the inlet size. Needs a different hose manufactured for it.

                      Don't drop the spark plug!
Went to change the spark plug and dropped it. Will have to take all the way apart to retrieve out of what seems to be the middle of the engine. It's the starter shroud but there is no access. Very poor design.

Not reliable - when you most need reliability
Had this for 1 year; used it last winter when the snow fell and took out power for a week, and just used it again after the big storm in California - so a grand total of 2 weeks of running, and a couple of short-term outages in summer. So, started the thing about 20 times. And the starter cord just broke. This is completely unacceptable for a machine that you RELY on for power when nothing else works; replacement is HOURS of work..

Generator has potential but falls short
I bought this generator last minute because my Honda was having issues, and I figured , hey I could always use a backup for RV or home use. Well, as another review mentioned;"tried to run a single cup Keurig coffee maker and the generator went into overload mode. Yes, this generator cant handle loads above 1000 watts without running at full blast and anything around 1200-1500 watts will send it into overload mode. I wish I could return, but I had it too long. its for low output applications.

strange combination of convenience and aggravation
I own two inverter generators, this Ryobi (gasoline only) and a newer one (propane or gasoline). The Ryobi costs $700, the dual-fuel cost $525. For the extra $175 the Ryobi offers a telescoping handle so you can roll it like a suitcase, a digital display, and bluetooth. The Ryobi's worst feature: an oil fill port that is very hard to get to, making oil changes an aggravation and a mess. You also have the mess of gas cans that leak at the nozzle. Even the $80+ NATO jerry cans leak there.

                                  Very Satisfied
I purchased my pair of 1800w inverter generators and the parallel cord over a year ago. I am happy with my two generators. I used them in one emergency situation that lasted for a week. Since then I have been running them once a month for about 10 to 20 minutes. I have no problem running the necessities for my urban home and I had the extra generator to run the necessities for my parents home. The inverter generators are small, light weight, quiet, have nice wheels and a comfortable handle.
