DO NOT BUY THIS MOWER!!! The Lead acid batteries only last 1 cutting season before they need to be replaced at the cost of $200 a battery (you need 4). I replaced all batteries and the mower still doesn’t last over 20 mins! I’m thinking the charger is bad too! Worst decision I’ve made and I generally like Ryobi!

Battery degraded quickly then charger died
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 2 seasons, the battery cannot be fully charged; after another season, the charger died. Disappinted. thought it's low maintaince comparing to gas mowers.

It just didn't last
It was fun while it lasted, but things kept breaking. It was one thing after another until the warranty finally ran out. When the battery died it was time to give up on it. Money down the drain.

Batteries are continuously a major problem
We're so frustrated with this mower and the issues with charging. Have had it 3 seasons; first season worked fine but batteries died over the winter and couldn't be recharged. We replaced all 4 of them - very expensive, and a 6 month wait! - and had a fine season last year with the replacement batteries but ever since installing them the charging lights are very sporadic and often don't show a full charge even though it will run the full time, or vice versa. Now it's our 3rd Spring, I took the mower out for a spin and... 20 min in, DEAD. Charged it up in about 10 min (???) and then died 5 min later with what looks like 1/2 a charge. Are we supposed to buy new batteries every season? This is so frustrating and remarkably expensive and absolutely flies in the face of the overall point of having electric, if so.

Trash Batteries, 66 hours Garage Kept.
As many have written, 50aH lead Batteries are garbage! This in itself isn’t surprise or problem. The problem is no other batteries exist on the market as a replacement. Home Depot still sales this defective product, but not the replacement batteries. I wonder why. Ryobi customer service quoted a price equivalent to lithium batteries, with a 21 week back order. Ryobi authorized repair shop owner quoted $1500-$1700 to replace plus the wait.

Great service support
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have enjoyed my Ryobi 30" for about 2 years now. This year the batteries were starting to fail and I checked with Ryobi on the warranty because I thought the batteries would last longer. I was patiently assisted by an extremely helpful support staff who explained the various aspects of battery care, testing and replacement. They assisted me in the process of ordering replacement batteries like the originals. So now I have a new set and the mower is like new again. My 300e makes cutting the grass into an enjoyable activity and I could not be happier with their technical support.

Indispensable..
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Indispensable. This is a work horse for our acre. Easy to maintain and to work on as needed. The deck comes out easily, the batteries are a little hard to get to but it's do-able. Four years now and I use this everyday. Not just grass cutting. It's a great little lawn tractor. Pulls a small cart nicely. Ryobi makes great equipment.

Ryobi rocks
Great cut easy ride used it 8x so farn & im a female 185lbs let my neighbor borrow it 2x hes 6ft tall he wants one now. Charges in 4hrs or less. I would recommend it i cant wait to use the bags this fall for leaves i know it will do a great job on my 1 acre. I can cut 4-5 times before i charge it & its pretty fast for a 48v. It gets very close to where i dont have to walk the border with a lawnmower just weed whack spots im satisfied with it.

Even Better than expected!
I admit to being a little nervous to try out my new mower - mostly because I've never had a riding lawn mower before. I was skeptical that an e- mower could handle my overgrown 8k sq ft lawn but after doing the whole lawn and really putting this mower through its paces, I was done with barely a blip on the battery! Performed Even Better than expected!

Not my first electric rider, definitely the best
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had 3 months now and couldn’t be happier. We cut grass year round and I get a golf course cut on my lawn every time. Easily cut my acre of lawn and have power leftover to haul my trailer before recharging.

Replacement batteries very expensive
This riding mower worked perfectly for the 2 2/3 years ( approx. 85 uses) but this spring it stop working. Had a hard time getting to the battery compartment to check them. Battery source said they needed to be replaced, their life span is approx. 3 years. These special Lead acid batteries can only be purchased through Home Depot or Leoch (the manufacturer) at the cost of $159 each plus tax and there are 4 of them. Why didn't they use Lithium batteries?
Very disappointed !! Would have never spent over $600 on gas and oil during that time.

Not worth it. Battery Charger is dead
The mower is good if it works but when the charger is dead, then it's a Dead Brick in your garage. I contacted RYOBI support and they told me that I have to buy the charger which cost $388.16 model 140448001 at https://ryobipower.ordertree.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=140448001 . I regret buying this product, unfortunately it's out of warranty.

Great Electric Mower
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mower does a great job of mowing my 1/2 acre and still have plenty of battery life. It has a button for to keep the blades engaged to mow backwards. I purchased the bagging attachment that has 2 independent bags. The cover should hold a rectangular shape but since it was stuffed in a box, it did retain its shape. So shape it before you first use if possible. The discharge tube fits onto the deck using rubber straps which do a great job. It has a small wheel that supposed to turn indicate the air flow but it does not work. Recommend that you tighten every bolt on the seat as mine was loose and caused it to wiggle. Not indicated in any instructions. Mower does a great job of cutting and sucking up grass as well as leaves.

Battery Issues
Purchased the mower August 2021, worked great until September 2022 when i would be lucky to get 20 mins of mowing before the blades would shut off. I got the batteries tested and they are bad.
The mower was garage kept and always on the charger, (21 hours of use).
Read the other reviews. everyone is having the same issues.
Oh and if i am going to replace the batteries every year, could they have at least made it an easy process.

Third review and each have disappeared
I received the 75ah 480e mower on 09/05/2020. Mower performed as advertised for the 3 months left in the mowing season. Mower stayed on charger for winter in garage. Next season mower would not cut as long. Checked batteries and they were above 90 percent health. Ryobi was good about sending me parts . First was battery gauge. Second was 2 controllers for blade motors. 3rd 2 blade motors. All didn’t fix . Mower at this time would last 30 minutes of cutting. 2021 season started with 30 minutes and in early May would only last 10 minutes. Took to service center May 18th and still no news on status August 8th. I have extended warranty. Ryobi needs to stand by their product and give a new unit when someone has this much problems with the mower. Looking at the reviews too many people are having the same issues. I know this mower will not stand the test of time. All 5 star reviews are on brand new units. This is my 3rd review and the other 2 disappeared, I wonder why? No response from Ryobi!

No longer charges after less than a year
Less than a year since purchase it won't charge. RYOBI support sent a replacement charger which took two weeks to arrive and didn't resolve the issue. Now they are sending a replacement charging receptacle. If it doesn't work I'll have to take the mower to a service center. I will have lost at least a month of mowing time. I am disappointed. Oh and the bagger is terrible, though technically that is listed as a separate product and so should be reviewed separately.

Very capable and fun mower
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mower has far surpassed my expectations. I recently purchased 5 acres of land that was covered in Johnson grass up to 4' tall in some places. I've used this mower to tame the ditches and a few necessary sections around the property. It's able to mow through the thicker grass and the Johnson grass with little effort (I just slow down a little if it does get to be too much, which you'd have to do with a gas mower). It can go up and down the steep ditch sides with no issues. And it's quiet; the whir of the blade motors and blades through the air are the noisiest part, and that's not very loud. Being raw land next to a road, there have been a few times I've unfortunately discovered buried metal with this mower. I mowed over part of a semi-buried T-post and a metal bracket next to an AT&T pedestal, but aside from some knicks in the blades, the mower just keeps chugging along, still leaving nicely-mowed grass! No wobble or damage to the mower deck or the motor spindles or anything. I've already purchased a few replacement blades for once I'm done "discovering" trash.
This mower is so easy and fun to drive, even my wife loves mowing with it! It can pull a garden trailer with me in it, making it very versatile for many different jobs around the property. And the battery lasts surprisingly long; I'm able to mow for about an hour to an hour and a half which is enough to get mine and my neighbor's 20'-wide by 625' long ditches mowed, 6' behind the fence along the ditches, and another 400'x20' path with some battery left over, which works out to about 1/2 an acre. Not the greatest for a 5-acre lot, but until I can get the new 80V zero turn, this keeps what I need and want of my property presentable and under control!
Finally, the maintenance on this mower is....well, none! I unplug it from the charger, I mow, I park it and plug it back in. I do take a few seconds to use my blower to get the grass clippings off the mower deck, but other than that, I don't have to worry about gas, oil, or filters! Tire pressure and battery charge, that's it! The battery gauge clearly indicates charging level with two red and lots (I haven't counted them) of green dashes. I typically stop mowing when I get to the red dashes just to make sure, but each dash lasts for quite awhile when mowing, so I could probably wait until the last red dash is blinking before stopping.

Good Battery, good for my 0.75 acre to mow
This is my first electric riding mower, after reading reviews and watching youtube reviews, I decided to buy one.
I have 1.25 acres and about 0.75 is lawn. I have hills and bumpy ground. I replaced a John Deer E130 22hp for the 50Ah Ryobi. I have found it mows well, it takes the hills and I'm able to mow with using only about 25 to 30% battery. It came with a mulching kit which works well. To note on Youtube the batteries seem to have an average life of 2-3 years, you can buy them here at HD.

2 years and still completely satisfied
I have owned mine for 2 seasons so far. Virginia mowing from April to October. Every week right at an acre. The battery could last 3 to 4 mowings. I have a small Ryobi electric push for the tight trimming. No gas, no oli, no noise. I am a huge fan. The crate was fun to get it off off. It was delivered without the charger. customer service took care of that, but that's how I know 3 to 4 mows no charge needed.

Plastic is cheap
The first time I used it I was pretty happy for the first 3 quarters of my yard. But after about the tenth time of turning of the blades, then pulling the little handle back up to re-engage the blades it snapped. The plastic handle is super cheap and now I can engage the blades because the knob is busted off.

I just love this mower!
I finally got a chance to use my mower in my backyard last week and I had a blast. I only had a couple inches to spare but I did manage to drive it through the gate into my yard and it made cutting the giant irregular shape of my yard a lot more fun than pushing my mower around and around. I did go around with the weed wacker first, and then the lawn mower to widen the path a bit in the corners, but then using the Ryobi to take down the rest of the yard in the center was so easy and I just loved it. The mowing was great it handled nicely, the turning radius is fantastic even though it's not zero-turn it's pretty darn close. It's small enough to get into the small spots and yet with a 30 inch cutting deck it took down the center pretty fast. I just love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had this mower for a month but it is exactly what I was looking for. I'm 6'4" and have no issues riding. THIS is really good, 30 inch riding mower
i am very impressed with this 30 inch riding mower from Ryobi. . i have a gas tractor mower i never need now. I like everything about this Ryobi . it has been a year now. i get to drive it the 48inch front yard gate ,to get in the smaller yard. i have a acre in back. ive never run out of battery .just wanted to say it is good after a year. i wore out the blades hitting rocks.. the ride is stiff, and there is a lot of torque. i have to say, its powerful. batteries are easy to upgrade if needed.
