It was easy to install. But the instructions manual was incorrect on the last step to test if it was working correctly. The locking mechanism doesn't retract to determine if it is working or not.

Took minutes to assemble. Works efficiently with no issues. Best out there!!

Despite the electronics of the device maintaining functionality, the chintzy pin system which physically engages the door handle so that you can actually unlock the door failed after 5 years of use. If you could see the mechanism that unlocks the door you would understand why: it is essentially a plastic shroud that is driven by a ball point pen gauge spring. That flimsy pen spring pushes down on a plastic shroud, which itself pushes down on another pin which drops into a slot to engage the door handle. That really important pin is also suspended into a neutral position by a spring even lighter than what you would find inside a pen. Apparently the power savings of this device comes from the lock itself being little more than a couple pieces of plastic and delicate springs - and that is what will fail you, if the logic board doesn't, first. I guess I can feel OK giving it one star because the backup key still works.

We use this at our AirB beach house. Lots of heavy use by strangers as well as subject to the salt air beach environment. We email the code to renters. This will replace the unit we installed 5 years ago.

I read many reviews of key pad locks. This one seemed to stand out more than the others. I have it for my airbnb guests and it works perfect, only a 4 digit code that is easy to use.

Door lock was easy to install and has worked perfectly so far!(two months) The features are excellent. Leaving the door locked it always opens from the inside and when I leave there is no second guessing that the door will be locked when I close the door.Don't lose the paper work that has the 6 digit program code to re code your 4 digit password codes. They do have a sticker placed on the inside of the casing facing the door with this code but you will need to un assemble the lock to access it. But at least you know it's there just in case.The blue back light for numbers is nice when pushing the Schlage button on top.It was easily re keyed by Home Depot at no charge.Was not sure if handle would hit my porch storm door handle when both doors were closed so I bought a different color from Home Depot (brick/mortar store) installed it to make sure, then put it back in the box when I knew it would work.(about 1/2 to spare from hitting other handle) and ordered this bright brass color on line to match my storm door handle.Home Depot had no issues about bringing it back and returning it.Very pleased with my purchase. I didn't have a hole drilled in my door for a deadbolt. The standard 5 1/2 inches between centers WILL NOT work for this combination if you have pre existing holes drilled (Camelot electronic door lock and Camelot electronic dead bolt). No where does it show the dimension between centers. You can drill a hole as far apart as you want as long as both will fit. I called Schlage and they recommended 9 inches between hole centers. (yeah I don't know anything about no sweepstake entry.. not why I posted this review.)

Although I did not install the lock, it was very easy to use. I purchased it online from Home Depot. To unlock the door, you only need to put in your code which comes with the lock or program your own. However, you will need another door handle to help open the door. I used my previous Schlage door handle. The door automatically locks which is convenient. I like this feature over having to press anything to lock it. This is the 3rd keyless lock on the door, but this lock is much simpler to use. I have had this lock almost a month. It's elegant and I love the ease of use, design and color. One key comes with the lock. I would have preferred to have two. I'm happy with my purchase.

I expected the Flex lock to be a mechanical lock/unlock -- it is not. When the flex lock is turned to unlock, it simply throws a small internal electric switch, which allows the exterior handle to engage. But if the battery is low or dead, then no matter if the inside is "unlocked", you're not getting in from the outside. Changing the battery requires unscrewing the entire interior half. I would prefer some battery access door. Maybe if a battery lasted 2-3 years the hassle wouldn't seem so bad. I keep my door unlocked most of the time as I am usually around, but lock it when I leave for extended periods. Unfortunately, that's when the battery dies. My keypad seems a bit wanky, and I have to be very deliberate in pressing the buttons -- maybe I just got a flakey one. Finally, I will say I like it when it works, and the finish has held up well. It is attractive. However, the downsides outweigh the upsides, so I will be looking to replace it.

I am 58yr old female. I’m telling you this... it was pretty easy to install. I even Had to switch handle directions and instructions were easy. Voila!!!! If I can do it so can you!!!

Easy to install. Easy to program, if you follow instructions. Provides trusted children and trusted others access without a key. Looks nice on the front door, matches handle of all other Schlage looks in the home.

This is a great keyless entry option. We’ve had it installed about a month here in OR and through exposure to rain and weather, it seems to be just fine. I have only used the 2 pre-programmed codes for entry, but am looking forward to programming more. Perfect piece for our new door! Our contractor installed all items and I’m glad I added the deadbolt, it was tight so he had to adjust the deadbolt to properly fit - but these have been excellent so far.

Manufacture company will not replace if any disinfectant was used on product! Apparently anything other than “soap and water” will cause corrosion and this is not accepted under warranty to honor a replacement. Do not purchase this item for If you own a business that would require excess cleaning to prevent the spread of germs!

Easy to install, love the lock option, self lock or manual

Great Lock - Installation with ease - all done then the battery that came with the kit - died out - short battery life - day of installation - had to get another 9V Battery.

Pretty easy install, theres a stud screw you turn out a bit from the main unit about a 1/8 inch which sticks out the back side of door, this makes putting the back plate on very easy.The rest is feeding the wire and connecting and putting in place so back cover can go on. Programming for new code is a couple of steps but not hard. I did have to flip my handles but they provide the tool for removing.

Old lock broke and needed a special size lock to cover two holes. This one was just the right size. I never intended to purchase an electronic lock but am now so glad that I did. My family is very happy also as it makes life easier with no key required -- the door locks automatically when you shut door -- punch in four numbers and it opens- EASY. Have used a couple of weeks. (use key if you forget code)

Good lock. Installed this for my client after they closed on the house and they love how fast they can leave the house and get in without fumbling keys. Since it doesn't have a deadbolt, it doesn't use up the battery as fast as other designs. It also isn't as "secure" since there is no deadbolt. We kept the deadbolt installed but only use it at night or on when on vacation. It is also a deterrent since it's another "obstacle" they'd have to get through.

Easy to install and program. Looks fancy without the fancy price. Currently using as employee entrance on steel door. In use for 2 weeks no problems to report. You have to download a manual to get all of the features like vacation mode which we use to disable the keypad every night. Meets and exceeds our expectations so far.

When the Schlage button is pushed, all buttons are illuminated in blue. Kids like not having to dig their key out of school backpack. Dad likes that the door can stay locked.

As some other reviews have noted, fitting the battery and associated wiring can be a bit tricky, but if you look at the design logic, the wire routing is really quite quite ingenious. Some other reviews noted an issue with clearance between this lock and an existing dead-bolt. If the door was pre-drilled from the factory, as mine was, there won't be an issue. My door does have a "half-lite" top and this lock just cleared the corner of the molding surrounding the glass. Changing codes can be a bit of a challenge, but totally doable. Just don't lose the installation manual or you'll be searching on line the next time you want to change codes and don't lose the master code or you won't be changing any codes. Overall, my waif and I are very satisfied with the operation... no more fumbling for keys.

The condo we rent in Centennial, Colorado has these locks installed, and we liked the convenience of not having to dig for our keys to unlock the door after a day of activities and sometimes with our hands full of gear. We ordered this electronic door lock on our last day in Centennial and it arrived at our home in Illinois on the same day we got home. It took about 20 or 25 minutes to remove the old Kwikset lock and install this Schlage electronic door lock including programming - - - which our host in Colorado had demonstrated to us in advance. There is a PROGRAMMING CODE that is necessary to change the entry codes - - - DO NOT LOOSE IT, MAKE A COPY AND PUT THE ORIGINAL WITH INSTRUCTIONS AND THE COPY IN A SAFE PLACE ! I also wrote our programming code under the indoor base-plate with a Sharpie, just to be safe. A key is also included for conventional entry.

Works perfectly, I have one now for about four years and it still works as if it was brand new and looks great. Everyone has complemented it. No need to carry a key anymore. If you're handy, its easy to install.

I had gotten another Schlage lock like this years ago on our front door so when I needed a new lock for our back door, this was our first choice. Super easy to install and very attractive finish. Programming is simple too.

Simply Amazing! This was my first home improvement on my very first home. I’m abosolutley stoked! You gotta start somewhere. I liked that I can shut the door behind me and not worry about if remembered to lock the door. It comes equipped with a stay locked settings. That setting still allows you to open from the inside without having to unlock. The lever knob makes life easy when you need to use your elbows or if your hands are occupied with groceries and what not. So far it’s been my first week. I have gotten security, comfort, aesthetics, and compliments from this product. It’s exceeded my expectations. So far no Raptors tho.

As described, I would by another one.

Easy to install. Works great. So much easier then getting out my key. I highly recommend.
