Gave this 5 stars as was exactly what I was looking for. Moves the air around a 22 x 19 room and I use it with another floor fan for maximum air flow. Highly recommend the Vornado fans.

My family had a Vornado all the time I was growing up, from the 50’s till they died in the nineties. I don’t ever remember a time that we didn’t have that fan. It’s why I buy Vornados to this day. Those fans lasted and lasted! And the exhaust cooled our house greatly. I’m extremely happy with my new fan. Feels like home!

Would have given 5 stars but the way the fan tilts is not great. Could be improved. However I would never stray from Vornado.

The size of the fan seemed small…until it’s plugged in and generating a powerful cooling breeze. With temps 105 +, we were looking for something to help inside and in the workshop when it’s not blazing hot! Great fan!

Lot of power in a little fan, and the air is cool. Overall super happy with this one. We use it indoors for extra cool nights and a little white noise.

Pretty sturdy fan. The circulation on this can is a amazing. Keep my AC on 70 cut this in and it’s wonderful. Very easy to place due to size. You won’t be disappointed.

The unit works well! the biggest problem is that the knobs that tighten when you tilt the fan whwre you want it, they come loose so the position of the fan changes slightly. it is very hot where I live so circulating the hot air does not help! eek!! it is pretty and seems very durable except for the knob issue....

Got this to move air around our shop. It does just that. We have large bays (16'x50') that fill will exhaust. When fan is in use you can see the exhaust exit the building

The van was expensive and it doesn’t circulate air as strong as other fans in that price range. However, it was easy to assemble and the small size makes it fit where needed

very noticeable improvement when coupled with window AC unit, which is why i bought it. highly recommended albeit very expensive (for a fan).

I purchased a few weeks ago, and it is a great help in cooling the house. Only need to put it on low.

So far, so good. One episode of "vibration" (not a fan of jittery, pulsing noises) - solid performance since then. Fan is currently located on carpeted floor near a screened door. Product is heavier than some others we've used and quite stable on the floor - we need the extra stability due to very active cats living in the house - flimsy products tend to end up tipped over and pushed aside. For those who like "white noise": Sound seems constant and does not waver or change in pitch - likely good things for a "white noise" generator.

Moves air but it not effective to cool air. Great for rooms where additional air flow is needed for existing A/C or heating systems.

Great color, material, and build quality. Was hoping for something with more output for the type of fan. Should have gone with a larger fan to move more air. Puts out a good amount of air for the size, but not anymore than the other versions from this brand.

Issue staying in position

I work overnight at the post office on their sorting machines which are about 100 ft long. Very powerful fan for its smaller size. I can definitely feel a breeze about 75 ft away. I bought another one I use in my house and it’s pretty quiet for being so powerful. I was originally taking a DeWalt 20” drum fan I had attached to a portable dolly, which worked fine and was bigger, but this Vornado 293 fan does the same or better job blowing. The DeWalt is a bit noisy on its highest setting. Noise isn’t a problem in a warehouse. I only mention it for anyone wanting to use this for everyday purpose. I would say my only complaint about the Vornado 293 fan is the stand… not really a big issue really actually. It’s a personal thing. I wish I could put it on a portable dolly. So I have to carry it in everyday. It’s actually pretty light but I have a 30 ft extension cord I also have. I wrap the cord around the legs of the stand. If I could recreate this fan I would make the stand / \ where it’s like an upside down V or U shape and make the handle like a T shape so I could wrap my extension cord around the top. For safety purposes at my work I leave the cord provided wrapped on the back since it’s black. I use a yellow extension cord since the floor is black. That’s just my personal thoughts. This fan is definitely top notch and worth getting. Easy to take apart if you want and clean every so often. I have another Vornado fan besides the 293 which is why I decided to buy the 293 that came prebuilt in the box and one time I tried to take it apart to clean the dust off the blades and I was not able to get the cover off without breaking it. Side note for the Vornado 293 if you do buy it. It comes as 3 pieces. Not a problem. (Stand, fan, and possibly the cover) the second one I bought the cover came attached. Anyways my point is that the instructions aren’t clear about the washers and I believe that’s why some reviews I read before buying said the fan wouldn’t stay in a position. It comes with these plastic washers in between the fan and the screw covers along with foam pad washers. My point is throw away the plastic washers. They serve no purpose. So it should be fan then foam pad washer then stand then screw cover for assembly purposes. The first one I bought I spent about 20 minutes also having the same issue with the fan not staying in position. So I thought logically as I looked at it and was like “duh slippery plastic will cause the fan to move”. So removed the plastic washers and only used the foam pad washers and voila! The fan stays put. Overall, I have been using this fan at work for about a month. It keeps me cool while working. I definitely recommend this fan.

Received 2 of these for Father's Day. I was skeptical of the size, but they ended up being more powerful than the drum fan i currently have. They are so much smaller than a drum fan that you can put them on the bench top, or just leave them on the floor. Great tilt feature to cover any angle from floor to ceiling. We liked it so much, we got a 41 inch Vornado tower fan for the house. Highly, highly recommend.

I have one 293 that is 17 years old and two 293's that are 14 years old and I still use them daily!! Great fans well worth the money!!
