The Vornado 293 does an outstanding job circulating the air in my home in Tucson, AZ. It makes and excellent adjunct to the evaporative (swamp) cooler, which is the only other means of air conditioning for the home. The accelerated air movement helps evaporate the excess moisture produced by the swamp cooler, further cooling the air and keeping the home comfortable during the hot summer months. The 293 model has a stronger motor and better base than other large model Vornado fans I have purchased in the past.

excellent for what I need it

This Vornado fan is way over price and the motor was way too weak. It does not move enough volume of air. The threads in the 2 plastic knobs for tilting were wearing out after 10 times of use; they got so loose and can no longer tighten up. Vornado fans used to be good. Do not waste money on this junk. Home Depot XPOWER 1100 CFM 4 Speed Multipurpose 11 in. Pro Air Circulator Utility Fan for $ 99.00 is a much better deal to buy.

We use the 293 in a 40' 5th wheel, it circulates air throughout our unit. This has to be the best fan money can buy. Sumner to Winter we have our 293 running 24 hours a day.

I bought 2 of these years ago (and would buy more if not out of stock!!); Fabulous air circulation! Absolutely the best fans I've ever owned!!

Ours has been running continuously for over a year with not problems. We have recently purchased another one. This fan is a real workhorse.

Having already owned Vornado fans, I was confident this fan would move volumes of air. It does that very well in a cooling, directed funnel. I like the color for visibility in the shop and the size versus volume of air flow. I use it on the highest setting only and the noise level is not an issue for me.I would like to see a change to the knobs that hold the fan angle of tilt. They are not large enough to easily gain torque to prevent the fan from slipping out of position. Vornado needs to revisit this part of the design.Overall, this is an attractive, voluminous flow shop fan. Increase the knob diameters and I give it 5 stars.

This is my third Vornado, I have them in my four room apt. I have had the fans for many years. Very pleased.

The Vornado is well named. I think it is one of the best fans I have ever owned. Excellent air movement and powerful for such a compact and well-designed fan. Very sturdy and looks like it is built to last.

Product has already broken. A fan blade broke off so the fan was not balanced.

Best fan ever! My third VORNADO and due to my experience, will never own anything but a VORNADO!!! This one is not to big, not to heavy, and puts out a great cfm. You will be surprised about the amount of air that circulates from the fan! It is very quiet, you won't even know it's on. Unlike a lot of products that have gone down in quality, the VORNADOs keep getting better! It's been 10 years since we bought our last one (reliable, durable, dependable) and they can not be beat!

Great buy! Perfect for summer. We bought the 1st one last year. It worked really well . We decided to buy the 2nd one for downstairs as well. We set A/C around 80+ and turn on the fan. It kept the room cool and reduced my electric bill.

Powerful fan, you pay a little more but well worth it. It's better than owning a bunch and none can deliver the amount of air that this one can do. It also nice and quiet at the low to medium speed.

It's not worth the $150 I paid for it smh

The amount of money that the manufacturer determined this product should command is way off base. The cfm rating on its highest setting felt only slightly more than a box fan. At $120+ it should compete with a 24” shop fan output that cost $85 at Rural King. If you need the space savings but an A/C

I just purchased the fan for indoors given its advertised higher cfm (air delivery) readings. Figuring it is advertised as having a higher cfm than the 723 and a 6303 which I also have, I decided to test this unit up against the others. The difference with this machine is the fan motor moves the blades faster. Still, I really am hard pressed to notice a major difference in the overall amount of air I get over a distance of several or even ten feet. Also, I noticed that on a Kill-O-Watt meter that it uses about 74 to 75 watts at top speed versus about 65 and 68 watts on the top settings of the two other models I mentioned. It's a small difference that may add up overtime, depending on your usage. With the rotation of the fan blades I hear a bit of variation to the rhythm of the fan sound. I hope everything is aligned properly for years of usage? Lastly, the fan grille, unlike the 723 and 6303 allows fingers to easily go into the inner container where the turning fan blades themselves are located. Clearly, that is not the type of item for younger kids, or older people with cognitive decline issues. It is probably okay for garage, or shop situations with its claimed ability to keep dust out of the fan's ball bearings. Its handle on top makes it more portable than the 723, yet the 6303 is nearly just as portable. Each of the compared units are considerably less expensive than the 293, use a little less power, and are safer for people at all stages of life given the fan grille enclosures. Generally, I would recommend something else for indoor family use.

So far I love it. It’s not to loud at all and it moves a good amount of air for its size. I’m just not convinced the 140 was worth it just yet. if it last longer than 4 or 5 years then yes definitely worth it.

Sooper Fan!!!Where do I begin? This fan is (QUIET), huge volume of air mover, incredibly well made and on top of all that it is YELLOW. I hung it on my shop/garage wall with the included brackets and the fan/position arrangement is perfect. Can you tell I'm a fan ?

Motor went out.... less than 40 hours of use. Not worth $130

Fan works exceptionally well. Really moves the air throughout my house. Could not be more pleased with performance.

This is the third fan I have bought in as many years and all three are still performing very well.
