The little alligator clips do their job, and the joints do good job of holding onto their position even after longtime use. The magnifying glass blocks you from being able to easily maneuver the pieces around and has a tendency to flop down occasionally. If there's a way to put it off to the side, this thing would be much better.

Essential tool for soldering, worked perfectly

If you are soldering wires together, this is a must have. It make everything exponentially easier as it hold your two wires together while you solder. Very convenient and able to take off the stand and magnifier if you need to work on something and just need the hands.

Great to have when soldering. Saw it being used on u tube for a car stereo install and was surprised to see it at Home Depot. Bought it and haven't regretted the purchase one bit. Plus, the price was very reasonable for the time and effort saved.

Works fine. I wish there was a little more adjustment in the hands. The hands also could grip things better. Granted I was using these to fix glasses not soldering things together.

Does the job, but a bit flimsy and it is hard to keep the lens and arms where you want them, pretty typical of this type of helping hands.

This item is the worst item ever. Did not work and returned it right away. DO NOT waste your money on this.

Awesome little tool to help with soldering wires for my Harley turn signals. Magnifying glass is helpful for those small solders and can easily be moved our of the way or removed if you don't need to use it. The base is heavy enough to keep it in place and will not easily fall over if bumped or moved. You can easily adjust the clip arms to suit your needs. Great little tool for anyone that will be soldering small wires or parts.

This device is an essential tool for holding small wires to be soldered and heat shrunk. I used the alligator clips to stabilize 30AWG wires connecting a turntable tonearm to the head shell, but found the magnifier too cumbersome for this particular operation. Overall, a well constructed accessory.
