    Great Help!
Helped me a lot with my pcb soldering. Though it’s good for small pcbs haven’t tried the big ones (pcb) yet but this helps a lot.

Helpful when you need a third (or fourth!) hand, but some minor drawbacks I’m new to soldering and tried my first simple project without anything to hold the wires in place. Let’s just say it was NOT a success. Something like “Weller Helping Hands with Magnifier” makes the task much easier. The alligator clip arms adjust in multiple directions to hold wires or small circuit boards, and the magnifier adjusts to give you a better view of what you’re soldering. A fun bonus is that it looks like “Johnny Five” from “Short Circuit” (for those of you old enough to remember the movie ;) But it’s not perfect. The wingnut adjusters are tiny and a bit hard on the fingers to tighten sufficiently to hold their position. Loosening the wingnuts to reposition the “arms” is even more difficult. And the adjusters for the magnifier and main bar can interfere with each other. Despite the weighted base, I found it will only hold a very small circuit board without tipping over. Still, it makes soldering small items possible. Weller is made by Apex Tool Group. Model # #WLACCHHB-02

I have always wanted the Weller Helping Hands with a magnifying glass. Checkout my pictures and you will see why. The Weller helping hand, stand, has 2 adjustable alligator clips on a tee that can clamp on 2 separate wires. When the 2 wires are rolled together and held in place this leaves your hands free to hold the soldering iron in one hand and the solder in the other hand. This makes an easy job out of a near impossible job soldering 2 wires without help. The magnifying glass is just a bonus for aging eyes like mine to see the wires while soldering. This little fixture gets 5 stars from me for sure. The stand can also be used to hold a circuit board. This little stand can also be used to hold parts together when working with superglue or slow drying glue. There’s nothing like the Weller Helping Hands.

I used this Weller Helping Hands while making some pieces out of solder and then soldering them onto rings of copper wire. The Helping Hands clamps made it much easier to keep all the pieces organized and to insure that I did not mis-align the pieces as I soldered them together. Keeping the ornamental pieces and the wire aligned was much, much easier with the helping hands set up. The magnifying glass came in handy for some of my tiny detail work and, when not needed, it can easily be moved out of the way. I'm glad to have this pair of clamps to use to help me keep small pieces just where I want them while doing the soldering. This Weller setup is very useful for detail work that needs to be exactly held in place when soldering. I hope you find this helpful.

Overall I am very happy with this unit. It is quite a bit smaller than I imagined it from the pictures, but that doesn't bother me at all. All of the components are quite beefy and I imagine it will last a long time. I had thought that I would have to find a way to fasten it to a surface to keep from tipping over. But the base is quite heavy and it keeps itself upright just fine. My only complaints are that the wing nuts are a bit sharp in places, which makes adjusting a little painful, especially with how tight they shipped them from the factory and the two clips barely reach one another. So if trying to clip from two sides of a small object it might prove tricky. Having said that, the odds of that being a problem are minimal.

Great for small pitch parts, or for us older folks..."Helping Hands" as they are known. I had one without the magnifier, but got this this one with 4X glass to see connections better and avoid solder bridges. Small cast iron base with a non-skid pad on the bottom. The alligator clips hold the board, connector or wires for 2 handed soldering. Pictures show a 70x90 mm board with .1" spaced holes. Perhaps also for other hobby uses where a "3 hand" is helpful to hold small items.

The Weller Helping Hands with Magnifier Model # WLACCHHB-02 is a new addition to the already popular Weller Brand. It’s an ideal product to have in my workshop for soldering repairs on small parts. I just used this in combination with a soldering iron to repair my auto remote circuit board. It has a heavy base with a felt pad to hold your project steady. The adjustable alligator clips on each arm work well with the 4X magnifying glass and keeps your hands free for soldering.

Weller has some great soldering tools! I've been using Weller tools for over 40 years, and have rarely been disappointed. This multi-arm holder is no exception. I had an older design version of this holder, and it has lasted for many years... however the wingscrews have become recalcitrant from excessive tightening. This new version appears to have changed the design of those screws to avoid the pitfalls of the older tool. I found the magnifier to be extremely useful and provided a good level of increased viewability. Everything adjusts easily and in the right place. I'm very happy.

Weller Helping Hands with Magnifier. This helper has lots of joints for positioning your work piece as well as a magnifying glass for more hands-free help. There are at least 13 joints and some with locking nuts, others with friction hold. I started a new hobby with computer controlled RGB LED lights and I am always making up wiring joints. At first, I made a jig with a piece of wood and clothes pins. Kind of worked but it was difficult to get the wires exactly right and to stay in place. This jig has gripping alligator clips that hold firmly. The compact heavy base keeps the jig firmly in place while manipulating the job and while applying solder. The container picture shows a circuit board displayed with the component side in the magnifier. This would be good to examine components, but the board could also be turned to the solder side for component soldering or removal. I am sure this jig will get a lot of use and I can abandon my other crude holding techniques.
