Excellent smoker for people wanting something easy-to-use. I've used both offset and gas smokers in the past and was never quite satisfied. Granted, they were very inexpensive which was probably the root of the problem. But the constant tending to the firebox and my inability to maintain a constant temperature made it very frustrating. This is mostly a set-it-and-forget-it smoker. One still has to check from time to time to make sure everything is working, but I purchased a wireless thermometer to go with this and am alerted whenever temperatures go outside the ranges I've set. Assembly wasn't too bad, I was able to do it myself (61 year old male). I asked the delivery company to put it next to the garage. I then put it on a furniture dolly (it's quite heavy) and moved it into the garage for assembly. The first task is to take out all of the parts, which makes everything easier to work with as no single part is too heavy to lift. Assembly took about an hour and was pretty much insert nut A into part B. Installation of the hopper/firebox was a bit confusing but common sense prevailed over the instructions and it worked fine. I went through the initial burn-off instructions without any issues. My first attempt was for pulled pork and I would say it went off without a hitch. I would have liked a more smokey flavor, but I think that is part pellet grill issue and part rub issue. I then made ribs seasoned with just salt and pepper and OMG!!! I'll never order BBQ again. On a cloudy day, the grill maintained 225 degrees very well and the resulting ribs were tender, smokey, and very tasty. After the ribs were done, I cranked up the heat and did bison burgers and hot dogs. The hot dogs came out nice because of the even heat. But this type of grill will never be able to sear like a charcoal grill, so the burgers were good but didn't have that extra kick of a nice sear. I doubt if I'll be getting ride of my charcoal grill and keep it for steaks and such. The grill will easily hold two full racks of ribs. It might be possible to put a third one on the 'warming' rack, but I found that it just gets in the way and have removed it. I like the lower cabinet for storing things, like the warming rack and BBQ tools. I also have not found that I really need the built-in WiFi of other models. The purchased WiFi thermometer is very accurate and I don't really see any benefit of spending $$ just so I can adjust the temperature. I like having a third party thermometer so I can easily swap it out if there are issues and the total cost was less than getting a unit with WiFi. But that's a personal preference. I found it very easy to clean out the ash with a shop vac. The grill rack, drip pan, and firebox cover all come off easily without tools. I did wrap the drip pan and bucket in foil for easy cleanup. Changing out pellets is a little difficult. There is a guard to keep hands away from the auger and it that keeps several pounds of pellets inaccessible from scooping, so unless someone uses a shop vac, removes the guard or disassembles the hopper from the grill, there isn't any way to remove what is in the hopper/auger easily. It would be nice to have a reversing ability on the augur and some type of hatch to quickly remove pellets. It would also be nice to have a little more control over the temperature, the grill has preset settings at roughly 25 degrees. I'm sure that is sufficient for most uses. So far, with just the two things I've smoked, it hasn't been an issue so it may just be the control freak in my that would like to be able to set it to 207 or something. I think this is an excellent purchase for a pellet grill for someone who doesn't need a lot of room and likes a lower price point.

Horrible idea for a smoker. No smoke ring, little smoke flavor. Grills cost way to much. Pellets cost way to much. Only bragging rights you will have at dinner is how much the smoker cost.

Zgrills matched every feature and beat both in price. My grill is handsome, easy to put together, and easy to use. My first cook was a pork shoulder that could not have been easier or more tasty. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Z-Grills 700E was a birthday gift for our youngest son and he’s been putting it to great use since it arrived. He’s working his way up to serious smoking, but is very pleased with the chickens and pork roasts he’s done over the past two weekends. Having to keep watch over our grandkids, the Z-Grill pretty much runs on autopilot, making life easy.

EASY TO ASSEMBLE. EASY TO SET UP, AND USE.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Did not know what to expect as first time with a smoker and pellet grill but saw many positive reviews on Z Grills. Assembly while easy to follow did take some time but completed in an hour. Since then I have smoked ribs, chicken, salmon, wings and sausages and all were very good and easy to do. Suggest a new instant thermometer as takes guess work and very fast to know when finished. My buddies have already checked it out and cannot believe how easy to use. So far very pleased with purchase and doing pork chops tonight!

Highly recommended. I love this grill. Have gotten my grandfather, brother and father one. They love it too. Easy to install. Low maintenance. Easy to use.

I will update this review if someone contacts me to resolve the issue and send me the missing pieces. Until then, buyer beware. TBD how this is handled.

My grill arrived a day early and the product was in great shape. I've put other items together and been frustrated with the way it went together, but this Z Grill was absolutely easy to assemble and the parts fit very nicely. I was very impressed with this grill. Worked as advertised and my first attempt at making chicken was a success. Great value and quality. This grill met all my expectations and I would purchase this again.

You will never need another grill!! I put mine together on a Thursday didn't stop til Monday morning. Worth every penny. I'd take a Z over a Trag any day!
