Appliance Installation Requirements
Basic hook up service does not include hook up or removal of built-in cooktops, wall ovens, drop-in appliances, range hoods and air conditioners. Commercial or built-in refrigeration (i.e. refrigerators with the compressor on top or over-sized units) cannot be installed, removed or hauled away. The installation must comply with local codes, or in the absence of local codes, with the National Fuel Gas Code and the National Electric Code.

What do I need to do to ensure a smooth delivery and installation?

  • Verify that all appliance installation requirements have been met (including dimensions and necessary parts), there is a convenient and clear unloading zone, there is nothing restricting access to the installation area, and an adult 18 years or older is present at delivery time.


What if my new appliance is damaged or not working correctly at the time of delivery?

  • Make sure your appliance is examined and tested before the delivery agent leaves. If you notice any damage or your appliance is not working correctly, raise any issues at the time of delivery with your delivery agent. Any returns must be submitted within 48 hours of delivery.


What can cause my installation to be delayed or rescheduled?

  • The delivery agents are not licensed carpenters, plumbers or electricians. To ensure a successful installation, all electrical outlets, water and gas shutoff valves, and cabinetry must be available and compliant with appliance requirements and local codes prior to your delivery.


I want to have my frontload washer and dryer stacked to save space. Will the delivery agent install them that way?

  • Appliance stacking is available in some areas but is not included in the basic delivery rate. Any appliances that you wish to stack require a compatible stacking kit to be purchased at the same time as your order. Please contact our Appliance Support Hotline at 1-800-455-3869 with questions.


Does installation cover built-in appliances? 

  • Basic installation service does not include hook-up or removal of built-in cooktops, built-in wall ovens, drop-in appliances or range hoods. Commercial or built-in refrigeration (i.e., refrigerators with the compressor on top or oversized units) cannot be installed, removed or hauled away. Will the delivery agents connect appliances to propane hookups?

  • No, gas appliances cannot be connected to propane and delivery agents are not licensed to install liquid propane.


What happens if I miss my delivery?

  • Please contact the Appliance Support Hotline at 1-800-455-3869 to reschedule your delivery. If you do not accept delivery within 30 days of the unit(s) arriving at the delivery facility, your order will be cancelled and any item(s) will be returned.
