Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama, Chef JRob brings a cajun kick to the Atlanta, Georgia culinary scene. He is an alumnus of Auburn University, with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and an alumnus of Mercer University, with his Masters of Public Health. His vibrant dishes, energetic cooking performance and southern hospitality will certainly change your outlook on the art of cooking. In 2017, Chef JRob participated in Food Network’s Iron Chef Showdown and hosted a segment on healthy eating during the holidays on WTVM News. This renovation was right on time for backyard entertainment for the summer! We had a blast grilling and enjoying some amazing Strawberry Lemonade mocktails!
Strawberry Lemonade Mocktail Recipe
Ingredients:
- Strawberry Lemonade drink
- Blue Curacao Syrup
- Fresh Mint
Steps:
- Step 1: Mix the strawberry lemonade and fresh mint with ice into a shaker, and shake!
- Step 2: Pour the chilled drink into the desired cup.
- Step 3: Add a splash of blue curacao syrup.
- Step 4: Garnish and enjoy!
My favorite part was taking some Back to Roots Organic Herbs from my garden bed and using them for garnish in my mocktails.

Honestly, I had a blast renovating my backyard into a beautiful oasis. Once my Outdoor Essentials Raised Garden Beds arrived at my doorstep. Those were the first things I installed because I needed to have my plants in the soil as quickly as possible so that they could get accommodated into their new home. After all, they’re going to be the perfect addition to any dish! As a Mobile, Alabama native, I always love feeling that I’m still at the gulf/beach so this United Nursery Outdoor Palm Plant gave me that feeling every time I step out into my backyard!
You can never beat buying string lights to light up a backyard after sunset! These Hampton Bay 48 ft Color-Changing Lights, that you can control from your phone by the way… Running from the corner lights up my whole backyard. So if I am doing some late-night grilling with some briskets or some overnight roast, I still have some illumination that gives off a beautiful oasis vibe. Lastly, I had to prime my new Traeger Ironwood XL Grill and Smoker so it was ready to rock and roll smoke for all the food for my summer backyard gathering.
Due to my work schedule, this full renovation only took a week from the time that I placed the order on homedepot.com to getting everything together. It was very easy and not a hassle at all. I truly believe any do-it-yourself renovator can do the same, if not better with the help of The Home Depot.
