When it's time to leap into a big DIY project, you might not have everything you need to get the job done. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Colma Tool and Truck Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Start your home improvement project with confidence and the right tools for the job. Let our Tool Rental Center in Colma II expand your tool belt with the items you don't have on hand. Rent the tools you need and return them when the job is finished. If those rental tools just went from wanted to needed, you can buy our used tools. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Make Painting Easier with Paint Sprayers and Rental Scaffolding
Gorgeous spring days are a great time to take on outdoor painting projects. Renew worn surfaces with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need rental scaffolding for painting a shed or home, rental ladders for painting walls, or a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, we have what you need.
Add Insulation When the Weather Is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, refresh your insulation in the spring, if possible, before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to install it correctly. Decide between a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated properly. Help keep your heating and cooling bills under control with new insulation that maintains the temperature of your home.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks and cargo vans on hand. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickups to flatbed trucks to cargo vans. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline on track. As your source for DIY projects, packing, and storage needs, it's easy to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.

How do I rent tools and trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You may also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions. Larger tools and all rental trucks require CLEAR verification.
Can I rent tools by the hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or longer. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and bigger jobs aren't a problem either. You have options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you buy your own. You'll likely not get a sharp blade when you rent, as most people won't leave one on there when they return it. However, you might get lucky and receive an excellent blade on a tile saw, for instance. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the truck, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. You'll go through CLEAR verification with the requisite selfie. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so review those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
