Take on any home improvement project with the right tools — even if you don't have them on hand. Rent tools, use them, and bring them back when you're done. You can complete your project without cluttering up valuable workshop storage with tools you rarely reach for.
Tool Rental
The Home Depot Gilbert Tool Rental Center can expand the scope of your DIY projects. Break free of the limits of old tools and rent up-to-date tools made to suit your projects. Complete your project safely and confidently by renting quality tools. If your local store doesn't have the tool in stock, you may be able to find it at another store within driving distance.
Tame the Lawn and Greenery Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten around the garden and shrubs with edgers and rental lawn mowers, and get that driveway and sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, upgrade your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to get it installed correctly. Decide between a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated properly. Installing insulation keeps your home cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, all while tempering your heating and cooling bills.
Rental Trucks
To meet your transport needs, we keep cargo vans and flatbed trucks ready to roll — with availability varying by store. We'll have the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your source for storage, packing, and DIY projects, it's smart to make us your go-to source for moving and transport as well.
To get transportation and tools for your home improvement or moving project, check out The Home Depot Tool and Truck Rental Center in Gilbert. Having the appropriate tools for the job is important, so let us help. We're here to help you get your project done.
How do I rent a tool or moving truck?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You might also check out our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.
Can I rent a tool for a day?
You can rent a tool for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the documentation before choosing your vehicle.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
