When you're ready to kick off your next DIY project with confidence, you want the correct tools for the job. In many cases, The Home Depot Tool and Truck Rental Center can help you expand your toolbox and your garage. We're known for quality moving truck, power saw, and tool rentals.
Tool Rental
Start your next DIY project with confidence and the best tools for the job. Let The Home Depot Gilbert Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the tools you don't have on hand. You can rent what you need and bring them back when the job is done. In fact, if you found the tools so useful that you didn't want to return them, we have used tools available for purchase. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.
Leaf Blowers
Try renting a leaf blower to blow away leaves. Fall will be in full swing soon, so have a leaf blower ready to go. It's much easier than raking them into piles. It's also easy to use on driveways, hardscaping surfaces, and concrete sidewalks. Clear your yard by using handheld, backpack, or walk-behind leaf blowers.
Chainsaws
Preserve the safety and beauty of the woody shrubs and trees in your yard with a rental chainsaw. Since you might not need this tool every day, it makes sense to rent it when prepping your yard for a new season. It's much easier to spot any troublesome branches and do basic trimming once the leaves are off the trees. We carry gas and electric chainsaws, so we know you'll find one that fits the job.
Heaters
If you can't stand working or being outside in the cold, browse our heater rentals. Portable heaters keep outdoor events, barns, or workspaces warm. They're safer than torch patio heaters because they don't have an open flame, and they also blow the hot air for more coverage. We offer gas, propane, and electric heaters in various sizes. Pair this with nice outdoor lighting and a jacket, and you can extend work or play well into the night with the extra warmth.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep cargo vans and trucks of all kinds ready for rental, with availability varying by store. You're sure to find the right size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for DIY projects, storage needs, and packing, it's easy to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.

How do I rent tools and trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. You could also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your local store. For more information on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, including equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool for an hour?
You can rent a tool for four hours or longer. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I need to return the tools?
You can return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Do saw rentals come with saw blades?
Yes, power saw rentals generally come with blades, but we do recommend that you purchase your own. You'll likely not get a sharp blade when you rent, as most people won't leave one on there when they return it. However, you may luck out and have a sharpened one. Since there's no guarantee, it's better to buy a suitable blade, just in case you need it.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Note the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. If you don't, you have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Do I just need a driver's license to rent a truck?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so review those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
