how far does bulb extend from wall? will be above externally mounted medicine cabinet
The furthest this extends out from the wall is 8 inches. The bulb is slightly less as the 8 inches includes the shade
The light fixture I am replacing is mounted on my bathroom mirror. Are there complications with this? Do the new screw positions have to be identical? (Should I consult my electrician before I buy?)
Hello, to mount to a mirror, the holes through the mirror need to align identically with those of the fixture's backplate. The fixture needs to anchor securely to the wall and allow for wiring as well.

I can't recall the specifics, but in our case, it was barely tall enough to cover the electrical box.

The width of the bottom opening of the shade is about 6 inches. The distance from the wall to the front of the shade is approximately 8 to 8 1/2 inches. Hope this is helpful.
The opening of the shade is 6 1/4 inches and I measured 2 inches between the wall and the shade.
How do you remove the glass shade so the bathroom can be painted?
The glass shades can be unscrewed and removed after removing the cooled light bulbs. You will need Frog tape or a similar product to protect the chrome fixture from your paint brush.
You can remove the glass shade by unscrewing it from the round cap.
Take out the light bulb and unscrew the cap the bulb was in, carful to hold shade so it doesn’t fall.
