It seems to be built well enough. I have picked up all kinds of things, both heavy and light. It is very controllable.
Even though this is a "lightweight" product, it is light only in weight and the handle is very comfortable being ergonomically correct and can withstand a heck of a beating. The rectangle shaft makes this very durable and sturdy and will NOT bend easy one bit.
This one will last much much longer than the other kind
