Questions & Answers
How do you measure the window well to see if a cover will fit? Inside or outside of well wall. From outside I measured 71” wide by 40” deep.
BILCO only manufactures covers for its line of window wells. For the ScapeWEL product measure the inside width and projection from the foundation. Additionally, determine if your ScapeWEL is a 2 step or 3 step model. If the measurements given are from a BILCO ScapeWEL it would appear that a 4066-C cover is needed which sits atop a 2 step well.
Our measurement is 42x48. Will the 42 x 51 cover work for this frame?
Based on the provided dimensions, the cover is 42 inches deep and 51 inches wide. Your frame is 42 inches by 48 inches. Since the cover's depth matches your frame's depth and the cover's width is slightly larger than your frame's width, the cover should work for your frame. However, it's always recommended to double-check measurements and compatibility before purchasing.
how does this cover attach to cement or is it only made for Bilco egress well?
This cover is held in place by a system of flexible clips. It is designed for use with Bilco window wells, specifically the W4048-54N model. The provided installation instructions detail how to attach the cover to the corresponding well.
Is there a way to lock this cover on from the inside, for security?
No, it has fasteners to keep it in place from outside only, and once pushed from inside, the cover will come off. Its just for protecting from rain/snow or other debris from falling in the window well and not for security.
I measured my Scapewel 6 feet and 4 feet from out side what is best cover
Does it come in smaller sizes 43 in or 45 inch?
No, this item doesn't come in smaller sizes.
