Want to know if pull chain operates smoothly if mounted on a wall. Two previous answers are contradictory
Answer: Hi Tallgolfer, Great question and thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in our Porcelain Adapter, With Pull Chain Medium Base model # 18303 the item is designed to be mounted vertically on the ceiling so the pull chain hangs straight down, not mounted horizontally on a side wall. However, if it’s mounted to a side wall you will likely experience additional pull chain tension. Does this, or any other base model, include a shade ring for adding a glass shade?
No, this product does not include a shade ring.
This fixture does not - porcelain or plastic bases of this style are normally used with a bare bulb. They are commonly used in areas where looks don't matter (broom closet) or where you want the bulb to be visible (vintage or decorator bulb).
Can I combine two white wires on one post and two black wires in the other post
To do this correctly all wires to be combined should be connected within the box with a wire nut. For example connect all neutral/white wires together with a short piece of wire or "tail" to run to the fixture. The circuit must remain complete when the fixture is removed or your wiring may not meet code.
Hello, great question. No, the post is designed to comfortably fit one #14AWG or #12AWG wire.
