how much are the battery for edge security system
The system uses your average 9 volt battery and 12 volt batteries. The price of batteries are dependent of where you buy them from. Hardware stores, local department stores have them.
I understood that this unit has no WiFi connectivity and in one of the answers gives was stated that I could have a phone alert when a breach in happens to my home while I am away. Is it right?
This alarm system does not have the Wifi capability, it will not be able to send you notifications to your phone. The alarm system that will allow you to receive notifications to your phone its the Skylinknet series, model Sk-150, Sk-200, Sk-250.
Does the key chain sound also when the alarm goes off?
No the key chain does not sound. I have the main alarm box with the keypad near the entry & the secondary box in my bedroom. The alarm is quite loud.

Unfotunately, this unit was designed, to work only on 110VAC.
If the system is tripped, does the alarm stay on: (a) continuously, or (b) for a set period of time before resetting? If the latter, how long does the alarm stay on?
Yes
Once tripped, the siren will sound for 3 minutes, and will then reset. If it is activated again, it will re-commence that sequence.
This package comes with two window/door sensors, what if I want more than two? What is the model# of the sensor?
You can always purchase additional sensors separately. The model number of the window/door sensor is (WT-433W)
