Can they be cut down in width
We do not recommend cutting the shade down post purchase. You can however order a custom shade to size through Home Depot. -Nailah with Coolaroo
Can the handle go on either side or can the unit be turned around so the handle is in the corner?
Yes the wand can go on either side, the bracket can also be adjusted to be wall or top mounted. -Nailah with Coolaroo
Can you do 14’ wide?
No we do not offer shades larger than 10 feet wide -Nailah
How do you release the idle end?
The idle end has a clip in the opening of the unit that you would use a flat head screw driver to release the shade from the brackets. -Nailah
Rain resistance?

what is the dimension of the short mounting flange of the end unit bracket?
The wording of the answer is confusing. See photo below. Focus on the surface of the bracket that is screwed into the wall or ceiling. The small end of the L-shaped bracket. What is the Length and Width of that small end surface?
