About This Product

This Off-Grid wind turbine can produce up to 2000-Watt of power for free in your own back yard. The wind turbine will produce more power up to 2000-Watt at 28 mph. If the wind dies down the turbine will continue to produce power in winds as low as 7 mph. This wind generator is used to charge 24-Volt batteries and mounts on any 1.5 in. Sch. 80 steel pipe (not included). This wind generator is a great way to get power to cottages, cabins, work sites, and other places where power from the electric company is too expensive or not available. Power from the wind generator can be used with an inverter to run small TVs, DVD, players, phones, lights, radios, power tools, laptops, fans and electric razors. It has a marine grade coating to withstand harsh environments. A wind charge controller is included with the generator to get the ideal charging current from your wind turbine to your 24-Volt battery or bank of batteries. The body is made from cast aluminum and is safe for high wind speeds, up to 110 mph. The assembly is easy and is only 5 parts, the body, a nose cone and 3 blades. Blade diameter: 70-in.

Highlights

  • Starting charging at the low speed of 7 mph
  • Carbon fiber blades ensure low noise
  • Synchronous generator type, 3 phase power generator with neodymium iron boron magnets
  • Weather resistant construction to withstand harsh weather elements

Questions & Answers

Will this unit charge Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries?
ByJun 4, 2024
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

The current model of the turbine is not compatible with lithium batteries. The internal built-in MPPT charge controller has no manual adjustments for the cut-in and cut-off voltages and automatically detects lead-acid battery only. Lithium batteries require constant current and constant voltage to charge, which is not possible with the current model. We are making our future model turbine lithium-ready, the wind turbine has a brake function in high excessive winds and adjusts according to battery voltage. The built-in MPPT controller has an equalization stage as an automatic stage that cannot be turned off. When this stage kicks in, it will pulse high voltages of 15.3-15.8V into the battery, causing your lithium battery internal BMS to go into high voltage disconnect protection. At this stage, the battery goes into open circuit and the charger disconnect before starting once it resets, resetting could be automatic or manual. This is to protect the turbine from self-damage. I would like to put my wind turbine some 600 feet from my house. How do I transport the electricity, well through a cable of course, but do I need to transform it to a higher voltage ? Or are there other/better ways ? Or is it just impossible ...
    ByJul 31, 2023
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

Yes, it is possible to mount turbine 600 feet away from batteries. However, the distance between the wind turbine and the batteries can affect the efficiency of the system. The longer the distance, the more energy is lost due to resistance in the wires. You may need to use thicker wires or increase the voltage to minimize energy loss. It is also important to ensure that the batteries are properly charged and maintained to maximize their lifespan. Please feel to contact Nature Power tech support at 1800-588-0590 for any questions.

      Answer This Question

The Nature Power Marine Wind Turbine, 2000W, is a great option if you live in an especially wet and windy area or are looking for a turbine to position in or by a body of water or on a boat. It has 3 carbon fiber blades and a body made of durable cast aluminum. It also has overspeed protection and is splash-proof and able to withstand inclement weather. This turbine is suitable for charging a lead acid deep cycle battery bank system (24V) for off-grid land and marine applications, it has a cut-in speed of 7 mph Quiet operation silent blades design. it can be combined with an exciting solar system to charge the same battery. What is the horizontal thrust put on the tower in high winds? (90-110mph)

        Answer This Question

It depends on the type of tower you are using; the manufacturer does provide that information. the tower is not included w the turbine,

According to the manual, the thrust is 231lbf(105kgf) (at a wind speed of 49.2m/s, 110mph,177KPH).

Hi, I saw that its rated till 110 mph winds and then stops spinning, my question is does it continue to generate at those high winds? ( 90-108 mph)

            By|Dec 27, 2021

This turbine will not produce any power at those high excessive wind speeds, this turbine has a built in MTTP controller, which will only operate on a functioning battery with some voltage for the controller to be able to recognize. The controller has a built-in brake function that will stop the turbine from turning during high excessive wind or if the batteries are full. This is called a protective mode. if the turbine stopped turning due to high wind speed, the controller is programmed to brake the wind turbine for half an hour. after this period. it checks to see if conditions change, it will restart again. Here are some points to consider when operating this turbine. 1.In a Voltage that is more than 28.7V, the controller will consider the battery full, the wind turbine will get into protection mode. It will Wait 30 minutes, check the battery bank voltage, if it is less than 26.2V, the wind turbine will restart again. 2. This turbine is best operated with areas of wind speed between 12-45 mph, If the wind speed is over 45mph(20m/s), at this time, the wind turbine reaches the maximum power, the wind turbine will get into power protection mode, it will stop 30minutes, then restart again. 3. Turbine is equipped with regenerative electromagnetic braking system. Over wind protection, according to the built-in controller design, once the wind turbine speed reaches 1000RPM, the program will consider the wind speed over 45mph, it will stop around 8 minutes, then restart again. This design main reason is to prevent instantaneous huge wind speed from damaging the blades or the alternator Please feel free to call Nature Power wind turbine tech support service. Too many conflicting answers. You say this system is for off-grid, and then turn around and say it will work with a solar system. Which is it? I have a 5kw solar edge solar panel system on the roof with a 6kw inverter tied into Black Hills Energy grid with a net-meter. Works great in the summer and on sunny days. Not so much in winter when snow covers the panels. Can I hook this wind generator into my current system so it works seamlessly with my solar panels? Thanks :)

                Answer This Question

This Turbine has to be connected to a battery bank , 24V , at least, 400Ah Deep cycle battery bank. what determines if your system is off grid or not is your inverter. if your system is battery based , then this will work to charge a 24V bank only. it can not be connected directly to your grid, I hope that this will clear any confusion, for any more questions, please feel free to contact Nature Power tech support at 1-800-588-0599.

I like the look and how well built this turbine is. I had a wind turbine which lasted approximately 20yrs. I believe this one may surpass the 20 it looks much more weather resistant. I haven't got it installed yet so know nothing about it's performance yet.
