Will a pair of these hooks hold a horizontal 2x6 plank, when fastened to a horizontal chain link fence rail by a U-bolt? (To stabilize pair of gates w/ a 2x rail along across their tops, but needs easily lifted out of hooks to use gates)
These hooks have a maximum static load capacity of 60 lbF each. A 2x6 plank can be quite heavy, especially depending on the type of wood and length. Whether two hooks will be sufficient depends on these factors. It's crucial to ensure the combined weight of the plank section supported by the hooks does not exceed 120 lbF (2 hooks x 60 lbF). Additionally, consider the dynamic forces exerted on the gates and plank, as these could momentarily increase the load beyond the static weight. If there's a chance the load might exceed this limit, it's recommended to use additional hooks for safety and stability.
Can I buy them singly, rather than a 25-pack?
