300 ft. Open Reel 1/2 in. Fiberglass Long Tape

Bought this to layout the foundation for a new home and construction of a pole barn. This product is better than expected. easy to reel with a floating plastic sand scraper on the tape to get it clean while reeling-in. The end loop has a small spike to attach it to a stake or post and keep it in place while running the tape out. The strength of the vinyl tape is excellent when pulling it taught for a good measurement. Almost no deflection. This was a very good buy and the quality worth the money.

Did what it was designed to do

I purchased this because of the quality name that Dewalt has. However the very first time I used this tape I went to wind it up and maybe got 100’ wound up before it started to bind. I thought I had back lash but it wasn’t so I tryed to wind it somemore, ended up striping the crank. In my opinion this tape isn’t worth the money specially if you’re going to use it for every day use.

Bought two, first one broke after second use and returned it. Second one also broke after second use, tape wouldn’t reel back in.

The internal 3 gears broke and locked the mechanism. Mr. DeWalt, replace gears with ABS or strong nylon and you'll have happy users. Right now, it gets a ine.

I have had this only a couple months and used a handful of times. The gear inside broke causing it to not reel in anymore.

Hard to reel, tape twist and binds, worse 300' I've ever used but was the only one in stock. Needs to be improved or removed from the shelf.
