Questions & Answers
Are all the components stainless steel? I don't want it to rust
Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out to the manufacturer and their answer is, Item 888 is made of Stainless Steel construction.
Is the bar textured?
hello. Thank you for your question. The bar on the residential grib bar is not textured. It is smooth like all our other grab bars. Thank you, Teng
Does the Gatco Latitude II Grip Bar differ in weight capacity from the Latitude II Grab Bar?
Hi and thank you for your question. Both the grab bar and grip bar have the same construction and conservative weight rating of 300 lbs. The most important thing for a high weight rating is to drill the screws into a stud/wood, or use strong drywall fasteners intended for grab bars. Regards, Gatco Service Team
Other than a difference in diameter of the bars, what's the difference between the Latitude II Residential Grip Bar and the Latitude II Grab Bar? Are they both intended to break a fall? Do they differ in amount of weight they will support? thank you
Grab Bar is ADA approved while the Grip Bar is not.
How do I install a Gatco Grab bar if the tub/shower tile is already installed? Do I need someone knowledgeable to install without cracking the tile?
Hi WindyCity, Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. We recommend partnering with your local Home Depot for a Pro referral to get quote for Pro installation. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.
How far is the bar from the wall?
Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out to the manufacturer and their answer is, Bar is 1.58” from the wall.
What kind of grips does this bar have? On the back? Rubber- textured?
Hello, We don't carry grip bars with rubber texture anymore. There are ridges on the actual bar now. Thanks!
I assume that the 0.875 refer to the thickness of the bar itself, correct ?
Yes, the diameter of the bar is .88"
Yes, that is correct. I put two of these in my new shower. Great addition. SJS
