About This Product

Our Buttercrunch will mature to compact, 10 in. heads with light green, thick outer leaves and loosely folded, thick, creamy inner leaves that are not bitter. This variety is slow to bolt. A good variety for both spring and fall crops. You can pick baby leaves in only 28-days. Developed by Cornell University it was awarded a All American Selection in 1963. A good source of vitamin A and phytonutrients.

      Even beginner friendly
      [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always wanted to try and grow my own lettuce so was very excited to recieve these seeds. The seeds are great quality and I love that they are USDA organic certified. The package provides detailed instructions on how to plant and they even have additional information on their website if needed. The seeds were very easy to plant and I was honestly surprised at how fast they grew. I grew mine inside my house in a grow tent so not sure how they would hold up outside but they were perfect for inside growing. This lettuce grows a nice side head and I like that you can pick the leaves off as it grows. The lettuce itself is super crisp and tasty. Perfect for salads.

        Disappointed no yield
        [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I received this item after our recommended growing period locally. I attempted to start some in a small pot indoors as well outside in my small garden patch. Soon after the weather turned extremely hot and they were kind of choked out when the weather cooled off.. I was disappointed I had no yield. I have some left to try again next year. Was really looking forward to the grow and tasting. The package is like other brands and price is similar as well.

          Follow directions completely, so u don't wind up like me
          [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did not have a good experience with this lettuce, however it's no fault of the brand I just don't have a Green thumb. The instructions were clear and great, packaging was opened when I got it so most of the seeds were not in it. I'm not sure what I did wrong but mine looks like it is just a bunch of weeds and I don't have any lettuce. I'm unable to taste test it unfortunately.i probably won't be planting anything else any time soon .

            Grows fast!
            [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are really great seeds! I can’t believe how fast and well they grow. We haven’t had any issues with bugs bothering them, which is always a concern living in the country. I’m looking forward to when they are ready to eat.

              Yes for a first timer
              [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a good seed. The lettuces did grow and easy to follow instructions but we have a rabbit issue and they eat some too. It was really crispy and nice. The packet was well made

                Fresh, easy to grow lettuce!
                [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this pack of seeds in exchange for a review. These seeds are awesome! They were so easy to plant and take care of - just water and sun- and we had lettuce sprouting in no time! I love being able to go outside and break off fresh pieces for a sandwich or salad!

                  Quick to grow
                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven’t been able to eat the lettuce but these seeds germinated very quickly. The first 2 I put in the ground have started to grow. I also live in a climate that is really hot and not the best time to grow this lettuce but it still seems to be growing great in the shade!

                    Easy to grow
                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lettuce is pretty simple to grow. I’ve never had an issue with germination and these seeds are no different. I can’t wait until it’s fully grown so I can add it to a salad!

                      Sprouts in the garden bed
                      [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After a week these sprouted in my garden bed. However the seeds I put in pods in a tray did not sprout. So far the sprouts are withstanding high temperatures and rain, so I don’t think anything is going to stop them from growing.

                        Perfect lettuce seeds
                        [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don't have results, yet! I can't wait until I do. Love butter crunch lettuce. Love that these seeds are non GMO and organic. What more could you ask for? I am positive this lettuce will be the perfect addition to any wrap or salad I plan on making!!
