Can the product be used year-round in New Jersey? For example; during when the window ac unit is being used in the heat of summer?
yes it can.
I am considering this and the 2 gal. version. I am impressed with the great reviews of your products. However, several of the reviewers stated that they are effective in one room only. I have a closed-hot air-recirculating system. Wouldn't there be a whole-house benefit (to other parts of the house) if I use the 3 gal. unit (800 sq. ft. capacity) in a 400 sq. ft. room? aPPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSE.
HI, ok this is how it is, AIR FLOW, any unit, weather it be a dehumidifier, humidifier, heater, air purifier, etc. can only work in 1 room at a time unless their is air flow between the rooms, or you have pockets of stagnant which is to say non moving air that will not be affected by any of the units. you MUST have a cross flow of moving air between rooms for any unit to do more then 1 room.
Our Airwashers do work best in a closed space free of drafts. With that being said, the LW45 does cover up to 800 square feet based on standard 8-foot ceilings. If your entire space is 800 square feet or less, you would still benefit from the use of a Venta Airwasher, though you may not see optimal results.
The Venta company website has different dimensions (17.8 x 11.8 x 13) than that shown at Home Depot (16.25 x 18.5 x 22). Are the Home Depot specs correct?

How does it regulate the amount of humidity to prevent too much humidity?
Our Airwashers utilize a natural humidification process called Cold Evaporation which ensures the unit maintains healthy humidity levels between 35% to 50%. Once the humidity in your space reaches the maximum healthy level, the fan will remain on, even though the air has absorbed the proper moisture. Venta Airwashers will not over-humidify the space even when the fan continues to run. It has speeds one, two, and three, depending on how much moisture you need in your home. We have it on speed two, and when we feel the air is humid enough, we turn it down to speed one.
How do you use it (I assume add water?), how much water to refill, and how often?
I add additive and water every two weeks after easy cleaning . I refill some water in the mornings and a little in the evenings depending on what speed I have it set to. It has 3 speeds.
You take the top off and add water. I use a 2 gallon watering can. How much water it uses depends on what speed you use and how dry the air is. In very cold weather with the heat on, it runs on speed 2, 24/7 and needs to be filled almost every day. The unit should be emptied and rinsed out weekly. Additive should be put in when the water is changed, it's important to use it.
does this unit need a 240 volt recepticle like a dryer would

I want to be able to use system for my bedroom and my open sitting room. I want it to sit in my sitting room during the day and roll to my bedroom at night. What do you suggest.? they are both on the 1st floor of my home.
No have it sitting on a stand in the room
No rollers but I bought a small crate with rollers and it suits it just fine
