4" bvent will work with a 4" bvent cap

NO, its not. I just bought one for my 4" pipe and it measures 4" to the outside.
Yes. Though it is actually sized to slide to the inside of the 5" ID pipe.
This cap is only to be mounted vertically. It is for use with Type B Gas Vent on Category I, natural draft appliances that need to terminate vertically above the roof. Unless specifically detailed in an appliance manual, this cap isn't intended to be installed horizontally.
This cap does not twist-lock onto the pipe. It slides to the inside of the B Vent. There is a securing clip under the lower skirt of the cap that will then engage with the upper, inside edge of the pipe.
This cap is designed to offer protection from debris & birds as well as offer assistance for removal of flue gases. It is approved for use with Category I appliances (natural draft & non-condensing units).
This Round Top has been tested and safety certified per Underwriters laboratories, Inc., which includes a wind test. The design of this cap offers a venturi effect, helping to pull the flue gases out the last few feet of the run. However if your installation is in a high wind area, you might want to consider the High Wind Cap (for a 5" diameter pipe, the part number would be 5RV-HWT / #105802.). It has a large wind band around the outside of the cap to block the wind, reducing possible affects to the draft. This is designed to slide to the inside of a 6" inside diameter B Vent. There is no built-in adjustability to make it go down to 5.5".
