What highest heat can it go?
Does it need assembly?

How many racks of ribs can you smoke? What about whole chicken? I saw one answer saying it won't smoke a whole chicken and one saying it would take a whole turkey.
This is a traditional smoker that will run at about 165 degrees. For Ribs and Poultry, you will get a great smoke with one to two pans of chips, then you will finish cooking your favorite way. Fish, sausage and Jerky it will do to completion.
Not clear if it comes with the chip pan. It shows it in the picture but not listed in accessories.
Yes it has a small container. The smoker itself worked for small smoking projects. Fish, drumsticks, small Boston butts halved, but not whole turkeys, chickens, etc.

Hi Debby. Thank you for your question. Smokehouse recommends that you use either pellets or the smaller wood chips to attain the proper concentration of smoke inside the Big Chief Front Load Smoker.
