500lbs. Is the break strength. It’s stamped on the tensioner. Don’t ever assume the breaking strength would be three times the working load. many things affect the brake strength. Such as knots, bends in the rope and shock loads. Etc
This product is similar in the fact that you are hanging the product from the hook attached to the body and then hooking the rope end to your product you are trying to lift and then pulling the rope through the body. The product is made to hold up to 500 lbs.
Yes, as long as the weight is under 500 lbs and that you check the attachment point of where the hook will attach to also make sure it is within the weight limit.
manufacturers website is incorrect. Product is 500 lb break strength and product is marked as such on the packaging and product.
350 lbs
To another rope, no. But yes it lengthens and shortens itself with the push of a button. If you need it longer then stock length, use another rope added to the hooked end and get a hook for the far side of that. Hope this helps.
You can use any length of rope you like as long as it's the same diameter that comes with the lock.
Yes. Just pull the included rope out through the pulley. Then insert a longer same diameter size (3/8")rope and feed it through in the direction the center turns. I used a small screwdriver to help it go through. Just make sure the new rope strength is rated appropriately for your application. I would use the same type of braided rope as it came with to be confident in it not slipping through the locked pulley.
PULL THE SHORT CORD OUT AND FEED LONGER 3/8" BRAIDED POLY CORD (NOT NYLON). BURN THE ENDS OF THE CORD SO IT WON'T UNRAVEL.
Sure, you can replace the rope with any 3/8" polyester of any length you need. ter rope, of whatever length you require. You will have to re_tie the hook on one end.
