We recommend Pennzoil Premium Outboard and Multipurpose 2-Cycle Oil (TC-W3) as the suitable oil for small air-cooled two cycle engines such as your chainsaw with 50:1 mix. Can this 2-cycle oil be used on modern snowmobiles? (Like a 2023 Polaris 650 INDY)
Hi TkVoice. Thank you for shopping at the Home Depot. The Pennzoil Marine Premium Plus 2-Cycle Synthetic Blend Oil is meant to be mixed with gasoline for 2 Cycle engines. The oil would not be appropriate for a 4-cycle engine. Clarification for my question. My original question pertains to snowmobiles with 2-stroke engines as most snowmobiles have 2-cycle engines. There are some that have 4-stroke engines however my original question does not pertain to 4-stroke snowmobiles.
does it work in ATV's as well
It is not recommended to be used on an ATV.
Hi Ronald, Pennzoil Marine Premium Plus Outboard 2-Cycle is designed for water-cooled outboard engines and may not meet the OEM requirements for your air-cooled ATV. Your owner's manual may provide specifications, if not, find a 2-stroke oil for air-cooled engines which tend to run hotter and are more heavily loaded than outboard engines. Keith
