How to store an Empire Level
    ByDec 13, 2024
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

The 48 in. and larger models of the Empire Level come with a protective storage case. For smaller models, or if you've misplaced the original case, storing the level in a dry, clean environment is key to maintaining its accuracy and longevity. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity. A toolbox or drawer lined with foam or a soft cloth can help prevent damage and keep the level in good condition.

What do you fo when the dismay goes bad? Both the top and side displays show the same thing
    ByJun 16, 2024
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

There are a few troubleshooting steps you can take if the displays on your level are malfunctioning: 1. **Check the batteries:** Make sure the batteries are fresh and properly installed. Low batteries can cause erratic behavior. 2. **Power cycle the level:** Turn the level off and then back on. This can sometimes resolve minor electronic glitches. If it has a manual calibration feature, you may need to recalibrate after power cycling. 3. **Check the user manual:** Consult the user manual for specific troubleshooting instructions for display issues. It may offer solutions or suggest contacting customer support. If these steps don't resolve the problem, it's possible there is a hardware issue with the level. You may want to explore warranty options or contact Empire customer service for assistance.

      Answer This Question

Don't buy this one, it shows the correct model number (em105.48); but they'll send out e105.48H.The one that's non-magnetic and without the case. Their customer service won't do anything about it, I already wasted 2 hours+ of my time trying to get it corrected.

Excellent level for construction work especially for ada work and grading. I use the level since it has three different setting percent degree and inches. It comes with nice carrying pouch so the level doesn’t get damaged.

The Empire 24” digital box levels have always been accurate for us. Sure we buy new, but not on any fault of the level, it’s usually due our workers letting a manhole set on them or being ran over with an excavator. We use these levels to check slopes in manholes, storm drain boxes and pipe. They take a beating and perform with accurate readings. They’ll take a bath too (not recommended) and keep functioning. These are a great price point and are an essential tool on our crews.

Great product. Quality design, LED display is easy to read with the light on and off. The carry pouch is padded to product device. Rubber ends are removable. Overall it does its job.

This level works great. I’m very happy with all the features as well as the overall functionality of it. The back light option is my favorite. You can read it much easier than standard level.

        Great 24 inch level
I've got a handful of 24 and 48 inch levels around my garage. I've kind of always wanted a digital level, but I wasn't sure if they were accurate. I don't do professional work anymore, but I've done plenty in the past. I didn't think a level like this would hold up in a DIY environment, let-alone a professional environment. So, I got this one and did some experiments. I built a raised bed garden at 4 feet by 4 feet. I double checked it with my conventional level, as well as the digital level. See attached picture. The digital level was MUCH better than my eye and the bubble level. My wife was worried about the dirt and water, but I told her to abuse it and not worry about it. I also hung some drywall in my garage. I actually shot it with a self-leveling laser and checked it against the digital level. The digital display was SO much better than the bubble level. Again, see the attached picture (although the laser can't be seen). Yes, a regular bubble level CAN be accurate under the right conditions. But, after using the digital level, I'm sure I'm not going back to a straight bubble level ever again. I'm going to buy the 4 foot and probably even a larger 6 or 8 foot level. Also, it's a nice aluminum chassis. Of course, the solid-state electronics are actually more durable than a bubble level, so I really don't have any worries there. The electronics are probably rated at 200g's or something crazy like that, much higher than any bubble level. Overall, I'm definitely going to switch to digital levels. It's just too easy to look over and line it up without having to hold your head and eye "just right" to get it close. Yeah, for a professional framer, I'm sure they don't care all that much as long as it's close, but for my personal projects, it's worth it to me to be right on the money.

        Great When You Need Numbers
This is a great level for when you need to translate a slope or angle into hard numbers either to match a specification, translate the angle to another location, or do some calculations. Where standard vial levels do a great job visually showing you when something is either plumb or level, when something is not either of those you're mostly left guessing. Or you have to get out a tape measure to see how far out of level something is (awkward at best.) This Empire digital box level has different levels of accuracy on degrees, in/ft, mm/m, and percent and it's quick and easy to change among them with the mode button. I really like the shorter 16" since I don't use this functionality that often. You can always set this on top of one of your longer levels if you want to check the grade across a longer length.

Digital display and accuracy, easy to use upgrade on a must have tool
This is an electronic upgrade of an old standard, the bubble level. This unit is a 24 inch model. It features a very nice carrying case and it is magnetic so it will hold itself to metal surfaces. The level contains two standard “old school” bubbles, one on the top, and one on the side, but they are more for quick reference as the digital electronic display really tells the story with this unit. It gives you a digital read out and direction indicators to provide a much clearer and precise measurement than eye balling the bubbles. It also features audio alerts so you can determine precisely level when moving the object up or down. A hold feature also keeps the last reading. The unit has seven modes to choose from on the display, including decimals, degrees, and in/ft. or mm/m. The digital display is backlit and easy to read, with both a side and upper face. Unit auto calibrates for accuracy.

The level you use to check another level
This is a well made sturdy easy to use unit. [ once you thoroughly read the instructions] This is the unit you want when doing work that requires a perfect level or a short grade [ like a shower drain set] . I checked it against my little bullet level by the same manufacture and was able to see the difference that my eye would never catch just using a sight bubble. I install machinery from time to time that has to be dead level. This unit makes it easy to do so. You can set it so you follow a grade without having to get a bigger level. I used it to make sure my new car lift was dead straight and level to the floor. We will be lifting up to 10,000 # on a two post system and it is must that Both side be the same. This unit left no question we did it right. For example if you you need to slim a post or a conveyor line, it will give you the exact amount you need for level. I will never be without this level again. It was not hard to use. and was able to take normal abuse. The pictures may not be clear but over a regular bubble level, I found that this Empire digital improved the reading and then the work by at least 3mm every time.

You know you want this long of a level. Get it cause it works great
I use this size of a level for installing fences and doors because it can span teh opennings and spaces. I am sure there a lot of other uses. The digital feture is nice but so accurate it leaves you feeling like perfect has never happened until this level was made. The packaging and teh bag with a zipper and pockets is a great touch and I know this level is going to be here for a lot of year. No you can't borrow it.
