Hello, thank you for your interest in Mayne planters. The Valencia does not have an option to access the bottom of the planter, such as a removable tray. You can try and place bricks in the planting area if you'd like.

Does the base need to be weighted? Seems it would be too heavy and tip easily
Hi there, The Valencia planter does not need to be weighed down. When filling the planting area with the soil you're using, this should be enough weigh down the planter.
The Product Overview says the planter is 20 inches wide and 16 inches high. However, the Specifications say it is 16 inches wide and 20 inches high. Which is dimensions are correct?
The planter is 22 inches tall and 16 inches wide. Full line drawings are available on our website.
how does the self watering work?
While many of our Mayne planters like do have a built in water reservoir feature that creates a "self-watering" effect, our Valencia line unfortunately does not have this feature. We have reached out to the HomeDepot.com team to correct this note on the product features of this listing. Our apologies for any confusion.
