The zipper runs along the entire bottom half of the protector and about half way up each side, to easily cover the mattress. I'm sorry, but I don't understand the question. If the mattress isn't inside ate cover and zipped, then bugs will get in or out. The cover will move around and get bunched up
You slip the mattress into the plastic cover and zip it up And when you fix up your bed you really can't tell that your mattress is covered it's nice and tight When put onto your mattress it doesn't slip or slide
