This nailer is compatible with 23-gauge headless micro pin nails ranging from 5/8 inch to 2 inches. Please ensure you are using the correct gauge and type of pin nails for optimal performance.
Every piece of wood, as a natural material, has its own unique densities and variations that could vary the performance of the tool, but in general, yes, those woods should be no problem for the pin nailer.
You are correct, this is a pneumatic tool, requiring air power from a compressor. Occasionally there is a glitch in the system that forces us to choose an option that isn't correct, so I appreciate you bringing this to our attention so we can get it corrected!
Jim, maybe someone else will be able to give you a "100%" yes or no answer to your qeestion, but I would say No it does not shut down automatically when it runs out of nails. I have numerous nailers and non of them do, so I add nails to the nailer in between the little "tasks" on the job.
The Freeman Pin Nailer operates best between 70 and 90 psi.
Ray, I use a small "pancake" style for portability which came from the factory with a pressure setting of 80 # kick on and 105 to 110 psi kick off. When using the nailer with 1/2" to 1 1/4" inch nails it works good throughout the entire pressure range if the material is pine. If you plan on using longer nails or harder wood, I would make sure the pressure stays above 95#. Hope this helps.
No, this pneumatic pin nailer requires lubrication oil.
Technically, this nailer can be used oil-free, but to ensure the tool runs efficiently and effectively for as long as possible, 2-3 drops of pneumatic detergent free oil are recommended every 1,000 or so shots, or if the tool has been sitting around a long time.
No this nailer, does require a couple of drops of oil ( a small bottle of oil is included with the pin nailer in the case) I am not sure, but I believe all pneumatic nailers require a few drops of oil (depending on the amount of use) every time you use them, mostly due to the moisture in the compressor air.
Even though in the description it does use the word cordless, which would make you think it works on batteries, it actually only works on your air compressor, see the first word of the description "Pneumatic"
