Blade for Ratcheting PVC Cutter

This is a remarkably fine quality blade for a ratcheting PVC cutter. The precision in manufacturing really stands out. I like that the blade has two cutting surfaces and a shallow point between them. It is rated for cutting schedule 40 and schedule 80 PVC pipe. The blade is made from steel and manufactured in Germany. I've done a lot of irrigation work in my yard and a sharp PVC blade is vital for clean pipe cuts and glued joints. This is a terrific product.

Fear no more. I was pleasantly pleased with this blade as an replacement to used up blade. And I saved money by not having to buy the whole thing again. Just got the blade. All things Klein are quality. this replacement blade fit perfectly in my cutter, and just in time as i had some light plumbing to attend to. sharp cuts on 3/4" pvc pipe with ease. i have also used this on 1/2" pipe, and the cut was even easier ( as expected ). my previous blade was tired and worn due to a large yard project, so this new Klein blade will help the next few jobs easier.

Made from high-quality steel of the caliber I expect from Klein. The Klein cutter is substantially built and lasts a lifetime, warranting this replacement blade. Neither is inexpensive; but each outlives the competitors. The ratchets are precise and do not jam. The range of motion is ergonomically convenient. Blade replacement was simple and intuitive. The blade metallurgy is amenable to honing and dressing. But when you nick it, this replacement blade is the most feasible way to salvage your investment. There are some other brand cutters - of the same overall size - which purport to have a greater (2-inch) capacity. But they require more resetting the ratchet, and don't seem to cut as straight. (Probably because they are built more weakly.) Certainly, their blades do not last as long or take a sharpening. So, unless you anticipate abusing / lending / losing your PVC cutter, my money (albeit a greater initial investment) is on the Klein tool for convenience / longevity and lesser life-cycle cost per cut.

This blade is an extremely strong blade, made of quality steel. If you're looking for the best, you've just found it. I've had this blade for just over a month now, cut many, many pieces of PVC with it, and I have no doubt that it will continue to perform at it's best for many more "cuts". It has impressed me beyond my expectations of itself. I highly recommend purchasing this blade if you, and why wouldnt you, want to be rest assured in your tools.

Having a way to continue to use a tool once it goes bad is nice. This replacement blade makes this tool new again. This cutting blade makes the tool the easiest way to cut schedule 40 or 80 pvc.

I didn't realize how dull the blade in my Klein ratcheting cutter was until I installed this new one. Changing the blade was real quick and easy. With the new blade, my cuts are more precise and it has cut the time down considerably over the old worn out one. I personally, would recommend these blades and I will also change them more often to save time and energy.

This Kline Tools replacement blade for their ratcheting PVC cutter is an excellent cutting tool. The tanto style provides a great purchase point on your PVC and slices through cleanly. The teflon coating allows the blade to cut through with ease and extends the life of the blade as well. Changing the blade is easy just remove the pin line it up and put the pin back in.

The important thing here is to get the right replacement blade for the tool you have. There are a lot of tools out there that look a lot like this one, but, the blade is designed specifically for the Klein Tools #50031 Ratcheting PVC Cutter and may not fit another brand. The blade is a replacement blade and installs quickly and easily. Just follow the directions on the package. The Teflon coating also helps it cut through the PVC pipe easily. It is made in Germany and you can see the German engineering and quality that went into making it. If your old blade is worn out, don't throw away your cutter. Just replace the blade.

It took longer to replace than I had expected. It fit perfectly but keeping track of the small parts was a challenge for me. This seems to be a better blade than the original. Either that or it's been so long that I don't remember what it looked like new. After replacing the blade I did a practice cut on some 1" cpvc and it went through like a hot knife through butter. I had no idea how overdue I was in replacing that original blade. My phone's camera isn't working...again. This, no photos on this one. I hope to get that resolved this weekend
