Can they be installed side by side into a 48 inch opening with each side opening in the opposite direction?
If you were to install two of the 24x80 Giverny bifold doors as a double door, these would be made to fit into a finished opening size of 48x80. The two doors would measure approximately 47x78.625" so that they properly fit into the 48x80 opening. The two doors would meeting the middle when closed. Hope that helps!
Can I install these as French doors instead of bifold ? Thanks..
We do not have the hardware to install as french doors. They doors already come hinged together. You would have to take them apart. It also does void warranty to install that way.
Since these seem to be made of solid wood, do they do a good job of muffling sound? Thanks!
Unfortunately, these doors do not have any sound deading properties. That said, any door closing an opening with help some.

This door comes in other standard sizes, as well as custom sizes as well that can be ordered in store.
Is the decorative glass on both sides of the door? Front and back?
The decorative design is printed on the front side and the back is lightly frosted that allows the shape of the design to be seen.
