What's the default behavior when plugged in? Does it automatically turn on when powered?
I have this warmer and it does not have an auto timer. I press the top button for the 2,4,6 timer. I press bottom power bottom to turn on and off. It will stay on until I turn it off. Unless auto timer is hours long? Mine is hardwired.
This towel warmer does come with a built-in timer. You can set it for 2, 4, or 6 hours of operation. It also has a continuous operation setting. If you've selected one of the timed options and it's staying on continuously, it's possible the timer isn't functioning correctly. If it's hardwired, it's best to consult a qualified electrician to check the wiring and ensure the timer is working as intended.
Our outlet is on the lower left side but your picture shows it in the right side. Is it reversible to the left side?

Does this wire into the wall at the top or at the bottom, or can it be either way? I am needing one that wires into the wall at the top.

It plugs in at the bottom. If you were to turn it upside down then the on/off switch would be at the top and may be difficult to reach.
Can this be used with a smart timer switch that works via Alexa or Hey Google?

Can you program this to preheat towels while sleeping, or does one need to get out of bed a half hour prior to showering to have warm towels?
