I live in an older house. When it was wired 60 years ago, it was not standard to run a ground wire in each circuit. Will the lights and camera work just connected to a hot wire and neutral wire? (Some devices will not work without a ground wire.)

I assume that the camera connected to this light connects through my Wi-Fi to the Blink Sync Module and works using the Blink app just like my other Blink outdoor cameras. Is that correct?

If I run it to my light switch. Can I use it to switch on and stay on?
No,. Unless you take it apart and change it. I you disable the motion feature, then it will stay on.

Can this horizontally such as on a soffit ?
While the preferred installation for the floodlight cameras is vertical, since the product was designed to perform optimally in this “vertical position”, you can mount it horizontally under an eave or soffit or ceiling but we highly recommend the following tips when mounting: 1. Assess where intruders are most likely to enter and the path they would take. Most intruders enter the home through a back door, patio door, or garage door. Therefore, it is advisable to place the floodlight near entrances to your home. 2. Mount the floodlight on walls that an intruder would walk alongside, such as a narrow pathway. The motion sensor works best when movements are detected parallel to the floodlight, not towards it. 3. You can also mount the floodlight beside your security camera to illuminate the camera’s vision at night. 4. Although the floodlight is weatherproof, it is advisable to mount it to a wall shaded from the rain and sunlight to maximize battery life. Do you leave the batteries in it if you plug it in?
You may leave the batteries to serve as backup power in case of a power outage
You don't need batteries but I leave them in just incase power goes out it will still record.
