This is peel and stick (like contact paper). It is non-textured. You can not use over existing wallpaper or in a moist area like a bathroom.

The paper is smooth, no texture. I suspect you can paper over existing vinyl as it adheres to anything it touches. I'm not sure how it well it would perform if it got wet, such as an outdoor exposure, but it seems it would hold up well in a bathroom or kitchen sink type of area. I installed it in a hallway and above an entry doorway and have been enjoying it very much. It is a soft grey that works very well with dark greys, whites, blues, etc.

I am not sure if just drywall with no primer or paint will work but I bet if you just put a primer surface on it would work. I have mine on a painted surface.
I think it would work. It's not good for textured surfaces. Has great, but repositionable, adhesion.
We applied this product to painted drywall and it worked wonderfully. I do not think it would work well with unfinished drywall as it tends to be quite dusty and would likely not adhere properly.

You can put it on drywall. I would make sure its not textures and cleaned well. I have it installed in my wife's office and stuck well.
