About This Product

DAP Barrier Multi-Project Ready-to-Use Foam is proven to offer complete 4X protection for homes while offering more projects per can and less waste. Barrier's ultra-durable, high-density, all seasons formula blocks drafts, water, fire and pests. And Barrier is specially formulated for all sealing projects including small and large gaps, windows and doors (meets AAMA-812), pest entry points and fire blocking penetrations. Barrier is bright white in color and is available in a 12 oz. aerosol with reuse adapter and 2 straws.

    Thank you for posting your inquiry on the Barrier Multi-Project Gun Foam Sealant. As a general rule, spray polyurethane products are not rated for UV exposure, accordingly, a weatherproof (water/UV) barrier/coating is critical to the products performance in a sun/weather exposed environment. A high quality, exterior rated, acrylic-latex paint should be suitable to provide the required UV protection. As a general rule, 1K spray polyurethane products (straw and gun foam formulas) can be exposed to water in approximately 2 hours (assuming proper application). Of note, spray polyurethane foams are not rated for UV exposure, accordingly, a weatherproof UV barrier/coating, such as a high-quality exterior acrylic-latex paint, would be critical to the products performance.         Is this product an open cell or closed cell spray foam?

        It is closed cell, high density. Says so on the back of can, it's great stuff. I have used 8 cans, buying another 14.

            Great lightweight sealant
            [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lightweight foam is a great insulator and sealant. My son got a chance to use this on a shop project as a finishing touch to a bird house. It has worked great at keeping out the rain and helping them stay warm.

              User friendly but be sure to read instructions
              [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a hole in our pantry that I was worried pests could get through so I used this product to seal that up. I think it is decently user friendly with a base knowledge of safety protocol. I intend to use it other places in my home to help seal off some moisture. My only gripe is that it is basically single use without buying more tubes for the nozzle.

                    Reliable & Versatile—DAP Barrier Multi-Project Foa
                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you’re looking for a durable, all-season solution for sealing gaps, blocking drafts, and keeping pests out, Deep Barrier Multi Project Foam is a fantastic choice! We used this foam to seal pest entry points on our screened-in porch, and it worked like a charm. The easy, clean dispensing made application smooth, and the formula wasn’t overly strong smelling, which was a huge plus. One thing to keep in mind is that a little goes a long way! I initially used a bit too much, but trimming it down with a razor was quick and effortless. It also proved super useful around our foundation, reinforcing problem areas with ease. Whether you need to seal windows, doors, fire-block penetrations, or insulate small and large gaps, this foam does the job efficiently while keeping water and drafts at bay. Highly recommended for both small fixes and larger projects!

                      Does its job
                      [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems to seal pretty well as long as you get it in the right spot. Comes out fast and can be pretty messy, and you can’t really move it around after it’s sprayed because it’s sticky. I’m not an expert by any means but I’m sure with experience it’s much easier to use. I do like that it comes with two straws and is reusable for future projects.

                        Best in its field.
                        [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was used for sealing a hole around a/c piping with outdoor penetration. I forgot to grab a pic so I did it in The corner of a box. The huge bonus was that it comes with 2 tubes so it’s reuseable. It didn’t expand too much. It was just the right amount and filled the hole well without going all over the place. Dried quickly and after slicing it. It didn’t leave holes. I would definitely go out and buy this product again. It’s been the best in its field. Man approved.

                          Great multi purpose sealant

It is a great multi purpose sealant, I was able to use it around my pipes under my sink to keep insects out, I also sealed the gaps around my Windows to weatherize my home.
