About This Product

Airtap series is a smart booster fan system designed to be installed into your existing wall or floor register, to quietly increase airflow coming from your central heat and air conditioning systems. Your heating and cooling system brings comfort to your home, but not every room receives equal airflow. This imbalance results in discomfort for your family, not to mention a higher energy bill. By increasing warm and cool air coming from weak registers, you can increase comfort and reduce energy costs.

Questions & Answers

My vent opening is only 3” x 12”, will this product work?

Answer This Question

Dear Customer, Thank you for reaching out! Assuming, you were referring to the AIRTAP T4, Smart Register Booster Fan 4" x 10" the actual measurement on the backside of the unit is 3.93" x 9.76". The backside is what counts since the fan will mount into the vent with the backside holding onto the wall depth. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to let me know, and I’ll be more than happy to help! Kind regards, Duke Customer Support Agent AC Infinity Inc.

The fans do have a built-in temperature sensor that will allow them to be turned on/off when the temperature triggers are hit.

Good quality and working so far
We bought 2 of these for the rooms where we get less heating/cooling compared to other rooms. We just started using them as the temperatures started to get lower and can see the difference in the temperature. The real test will be when we are in full winter. The installation is quite straight forward as long as there is a plug near by as its a same size as register. The callibration may get confusing reading the booklet when you are setting up hot temperature of the duct at which it would start as it is for the duct temperature and NOT the room temperature. However, it was not difficult to figure this out. Overall built looks like quality product. I will come to more in coming months when we get into single digit or even below zero temperature so cant say how effective it would be in full winter. Last year those rooms stayed cool so hoping them to be more comfy this time.

Easy to use product to help make your room comfortable!
We received both the 4 x 10 and the 6 x 10 of this product to meet the needs of our space. A few things we like about the product: the differing fan speeds to meet the varying needs of our space, the ease of install (simply plug it in and you're pretty much good to go), and the screen (that you're also able to turn off while the product is running) that quickly tells you the current temperature in the room. While we like the fact that install is easy, having a long cord running through the room (if you don't have a plug near) could definitely be an eyesore, so you may have to figure out how to hide the cord. Overall, a nice product that will definitely help keep us comfortable.

The added air push we needed
We have always had issues keeping out family room warm enough. This was the perfect device to do the job. It’s stylish sleek and looks great. It has heating and cooling set points you can program so that when it gets to a certain temperature the fan kicks on pushing the air into the room. You can really feel it warming you up! Also I love that I can see the supply temperature my furnace is putting out! Buying three more this week. They come in several colors. You will need a plug in nearby.

                Good Relative to Others
I'm a huge fan of AC Infinity, having installed their their duct boosters and foundation vents on projects in recent years. They are excellent products at good price points. I've also spoken with their accessible, astute, and friendly customer support, which is also without equal. So I looked forward to checking this item out. Register booster fans have been around for decades but they've all been pretty awful in boost performance and noise. AC's is better, but not great... The good includes precise temperature activation, easily programmed on the unit within a few seconds. It's also attractive looking and a cinch to install with nothing more than a screwdriver. The plastic housing is rather deep which could have interference problems with certain register boots, so check your clearances before purchasing. The not-so-good aspects are paltry airflow boost at less than 100% speeds, no directional vanes or closing damper, and a lot of fan noise on any speed over 6 (of ten levels). I get satisfactory flow on the highest speed but the noise is simply too irritating in my low vaulted ceiling location. So I give it a good rating because it's better than any register located booster I've seen. However, I think I'll replace it with AC's excellent inline duct booster which is remote (quiet) and far more powerful.

More air & heat where needed
The AC Infinity AIRTAP is a perfect way to add more air at a desired temp in any room which already has a vent built into the wall or floor. I have one room which is furthest from the furnace and gets a bit less air / heat there. This resolved that problem without any major renovations. The measurements are fairly standard with a few size variations which these fit right into. The bottom part (plastic) fits into the existing vent opening, while the top cover (metal) is the grille which holds it in place. Can also be secured with two screws which are provided. The product and measurements are exactly as advertised. These AIRTAP vents plug into a regular household outlet using the included cord. Comes with either two 92mm or two 120mm fans built-in. The fans are quiet enough at low speeds, but definitely audible when on high. The built-in thermostat regulates how they work. There is a manual fan setting too, along with auto for AC & heat. I do like that the LCD screen is dark and only the numbers are white. That way it isn’t too bright at night. Would be great if the fans were a bit quieter and the power cord could be routed from any side.

                Quiet Register Booster Fan
AC Infinity AIRTAP T4 120 CFM 4 in. x 10 in. Quiet Register Booster Fan with Thermostat Control, Heating Cooling AC Vent is certainly a great way to have heat and/or AC flow increase, making your rooms heat or cool more evenly. It can be used on the floor or wall opening. We have been giving ours a test run. Installation will be very simple, but our ducts openings are only 2 inches wide, so they need to be increased in size to 4 inches. Thus the test run. We are satisfied with how they are operating, so will increase the opening. Ordered 2 and will probably order one or 2 more. Airflow is 120 CFM, noise 18 dBA, and includes the wall adapter and a 12 ft. cord. The finish is a nice white matte color. See photos for the color, close-up of fan blades etc.

Quiet, efficient comfort for rooms that need a little more heat or A/C!
I installed two of these in a corner bedroom: with two exterior walls and two windows, it was always a little colder in that bedroom throughout the winter, and hotter in the summer, compared to the rest of the house. The register booster is easy to program, and it senses when the heat or A/C is on. The booster fans have speed settings 1-10, and when the boosters turn on, the automatic controls bring the speed up very gradually to whatever max speed I set. I have a 70-second video with this review showing the sound levels 1-10 (below). I used a graphing thermometer to plot the difference before and after these register boosters. There is a noticeable improvement, and it also improves the airflow in the room. The instruction manual is well written and explains that the temperatures you program are not room temperatures: they are the air temperatures flowing through your ducts to heat (or cool) your room. So if your house thermostat is set for 70, you might see warm air coming through the ducts at 80 to 90 degrees. That's what triggers these booster fans to come on. I set my heat trigger at 83 degrees, and my cool trigger at 55 degrees, so that the set-backs I make in my home when we are away do not trigger these accidently. Of course, you can turn the triggers off and turn the booster on manually to any speed as well. I compared the 10"x4" booster register to the 12"x4" booster, and they actually use the same sized dual-fan units. Home Depot caries these in other sizes as well, including skinnier versions for homes with narrow vents. There is also a line of in-duct boosters if you have access to your ductwork either in the attic or basement. AC Infinity seems to have thought of everything! Replacing floor vents with these boosters is simple, only needing a little creativity to hide the thin power wires back to an electrical outlet. I was set up and running 2 of these in 15 minutes, plus some additional time to hide wires. This has fixed my cold-corner-bedroom problem and does it efficiently!

Keeps you warm and cools you off!
This register is amazing. I never knew something like this existed. We have a few rooms in our house that are always cold in the winter, including one of our children's rooms. We put this register in those rooms and were able to program it so that the rooms are as warm as the rest of the house. This register also works for air conditioning. The same rooms that do not get heat in the winter, do not get enough air conditioning in the summer. The vents can be programed to cool off the hot rooms. You plug it in to a nearby outlet and program the vent to the temperature you want it to maintain. I would recommend this product!

                nice white vent with fan
I really like the look of this product and the fan is a nice option for use with both heating and cooling in the home. The fans are very quiet and the electrical cord is long enough to reach the electrical supply nearby. I really like the digital read outs with the fan speed and the room temperature. The numbers are large and easy to read. The overall idea of this product is good but I am not really sure if the product provides an upgrade to our system.

                Works as expected
The AC Infinity Airtap T4 120 CFM Register booster fan was acquired to assist with both my heating and cooling needs. I have a 1 1/2 story bungalow, built in the early 40's. Needles to say, insulation wasn't a major concern then as energy was pretty cheap. I have added insulation, but our 2nd floor stillneeded the help. The booster fan works as stated. You let your furnace or ac run a bit until a temperature is recorded, then set either your heat or ac trigger temperature which will switch the fan on, providing the boost needed. There are 10 fan speeds, and I found the bit of noise on the highest speed very tolerable. It is a solid, well-constructed product.
