Want to use for front porch.
I think it would be possible but you would have to drill new holes in the middle of the lantern and you would probably not like the result. The mounting bracket is not attached in the middle of the lantern but near the top so it is intended to hang. Note the location of the mounting bracket screws in attached picture.
Works fine on my porch. Another comment seems to think this light was meant to be a hanging light. It is not. It is a wall mount light.

You probably could, but the mounting ring is set towards the top of the lamp in the back, so you might want to relocate that to the middle if you're handy to put it on a ceiling. Personally I think it would look better on a wall as it was designed for.
Instructions for the light only mention wall mount. I wouldn't recommend installing this on a ceiling as it's not really designed for that.
Do I need to purchase a whole new fixture once the led light stops working?

Yes, you will need to replace entire fixture once bulb is out - but LED has quite a long life span.
I would say yes. My light is still working, (only had it a short while) but from everything I've read, this is a one shot deal. That said, this is a nice looking light and I'll be buying more soon.
Since it's an LED light, yes, but they tend to last very long. You'll either move or get tired of it by the time it wears out, so I wouldn't worry about it at all.
Is the fixture dimmable?
The manufacturer does NOT state in the instructions whether or not this unit is dimmable. Mine is mounted beside outdoor steps and is on a dedicated on/off switch (no dimmer). Try contacting the 800 number for a better answer (800 986 3460) Good luck.

It is not specified in the use and care manual anywhere I could find whether it is dimmable but I would guess that it is.
Expert says that it is dimmable. Community says oi is not. What is correct?
