What does the ionizer do?
ByNov 27, 2023
1 Answer |
Answer This Question

The ionizer releases negatively charged ions into the air, which attract and bind to airborne particles like dust, pollen, and pet dander. These larger, heavier particles are then more easily trapped by the air purifier's filter or fall to the ground, thus removing them from the air you breathe.

45I and two cats
Prior to leaving for an extended visit with my family, I let my husband know our 45I in the bedroom was going to need the filter replaced. We have two cats. Upon my return, my allergies were acting up, I feared I was getting sick from the travel. It occurred to me to check to see if he had changed the filter (see video attached). I changed the filter before we went to bed. The next morning I woke up feeling perfectly fine and slept well! There is no way I would survive my allergy symptoms living with pets without our Alen Air Filters!!

    Incredible Air Quality
I have an Alen 45i and also a Flex. I keep the 45i in my living room, dining room combo. The flex is in my bedroom. I cannot rave enough about Alen air purifiers. They simply have changed my life. I live in the desert southwest with lots of dust and dry air. Lots of pollen and grasses, plus I have two dogs live in my house. What a difference to these Alen Air purifiers have made for my health and allergies. Thank you for creating such an amazing product!

      The best!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The best air purifier on the market! My main goal was to get rid of cooking smells, and this filter does the job perfectly. I also tested it at my workplace, where mildew had occurred, so the space could be safely occupied before construction. Thanks to this air purifier, the air was clean - no smell and no symptoms from the mildew. I’ll definitely be getting another one for my bedroom and workspace.

        Changer for My Living Room!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use the Alen i45 in our living room and have been extremely happy with it. It runs quietly, looks great in the space, and noticeably improves air quality. The air feels cleaner and fresher, and it’s made a real difference with dust and everyday odors. Setup was quick and easy, and it’s been reliable ever since. Highly recommend for anyone wanting effective, low-maintenance air purification.

          Love them!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 2 of these earlier this year. Best purchase ever. I can breathe better now thanks to them. We live on a high-traffic road, so there is a lot of dust and pollen, and this air purifier literally filters most of the particles out automatically, and will indicate the air quality, then adjust on its own accordingly!!

A Sleek and Efficient Home Essential
I’ve been using the Alen BreatheSmart 45i for about a month now, and I have to say—it’s an absolute game-changer when it comes to air purification. From its sleek and refined design to its impressive performance, this purifier checks all the right boxes for me. Design & Customization One of the standout features of the Alen BreatheSmart 45i is its aesthetic appeal. Unlike bulky, industrial-looking air purifiers, this one is designed to fit seamlessly into any home decor. What I love even more is the interchangeable panel design, allowing you to choose a finish that complements your space. Whether you want a modern or classic look, Alen gives you options. Performance & Efficiency This purifier isn’t just about looks—it delivers powerful air-cleaning performance. It can clean up to 1,600 square feet of air per hour, which is incredible for maintaining a fresh and healthy home environment. Despite its efficiency, it operates quietly, making it perfect for bedrooms, living areas, or even home offices without being disruptive. Smart Features & App Integration Another feature I love is the smart app control. The app is user-friendly and highly efficient, allowing me to control the purifier remotely—a fantastic option when I’m away from home but still want to maintain air quality. Having the ability to adjust settings, monitor air quality, and turn the unit on or off from anywhere adds a whole new level of convenience. Final Thoughts The Alen BreatheSmart 45i is an air purifier that not only performs exceptionally well but also blends beautifully into any home. It’s powerful, whisper-quiet, and smartly designed, making it a fantastic investment for anyone looking to improve their indoor air quality. If you want style, efficiency, and smart features all in one, this is definitely worth considering!

              Alen 45is are Pure Comfort!
I have 2 Alen 45is. I love them for their ease of use, quietness, and air purification. I like the espresso color as well, which I ordered. The quality is easy to see. I would recommend the 45i for all the above reasons.

                Wonderful size for the bedroom,
Wonderful size for the bedroom, we bought it to support our Alen75i during winter fireplace season and got the smoke filter… we are operating both in a large 60x80 25 year old cement block cabin. Before we bought them we had coughs and scratchy eyes and I dusted every day… now 6 months later the coughs and scratch eyes are gone, and dusting is only once a week. Just get one, the air you breathe is more important than the food you eat!!! I also found it interesting when they were harvesting peanuts 3 mikes away both units showed a red light, now harvesting is finished and they are back to green!!! Before I got this smaller unit my big unit never had a green light, now we know it needed the extra help keeping the air clean.

                  Customer for Life
This is the 4th Alen Filter we have purchased. I love the “smart” feature - being able to monitor & control the filter operation on my smartphone from anywhere. Very quiet & effective!

                    The decision to purchase this
The decision to purchase this air purifier has proven to be a sound one. After buying numerous purifiers in the past and being disappointed, I took immense delight in the purchase of the Alen brand. After one night’s performance in my bedroom, I awakened with a marvelous sense of wellness. My breathing was clear and with ease; the air quality within the room was superb. Moreover, the unit was relatively quiet, causing no disruption to my sleep. After a couple more days of usage I was so happy with my purchase that I ordered a second, larger unit for placement in my living room! Fun side note with regard to aesthetics: the handsome, minimalist design was also a winner in my eyes, blending seamlessly with the decor and not standing out like some invasive, putrid swamp-thing from God knows where! The Alen air purifiers are a marvelous standout in this segment. I strongly encourage everyone to consider patronizing this business—you will not be disappointed. Thanks so much, Alen! I’m a fan for life.
