10 ft. Premium String Light Pole and Extra Large 18 in. Natural Wooden Planter Box Set

Exactly what I needed for hanging string lights around my fire pit. Assembly was easy and only took about 20 minutes. The materials used are high quality and I expect this to last quite awhile. It's recommended to fill with sand or dirt so that it doesn't tip over in the wind. The included clip at the top of the pole is great for attaching string lights.

This is very tall! It can be assembled to be less than ten feet high, but then it is a bit too short. It is a very clever design and easy to assemble. I would give it five stars except I’m not sure of the longevity, which should be a long time for this price. The wood is unfinished and I worry that the bottom panels won’t last long if in contact with soil. Even on a patio, the slits between the bottom panels are very small (see picture) so drainage would be very slow and those bottom panels will stay wet. I have it supported on top of bricks to allow air flow. I haven’t decided where to put it because once it is filled with rocks and dirt, it will be too heavy to reposition without emptying it. That’s a good thing in terms of sturdiness. I would buy more of these if on sale because I can see it being nice to use to create outdoor spaces. Note that the 18” one is very large and the unfinished wood is much lighter than typical outdoor wood colors, so it really stands out.

I love our new light pole with planter. I have other light poles, and am always trying to find ways to make them look more beautiful and natural. Such a great idea to add the planter, adds beauty and the necessary stability. I love all the features. Sturdy pole screwed together easily. Easy to assemble, natural wood planter is beautiful. All the pieces are solid, and good quality materials. The light pole is stable and keeps the lights high, which really opens up the yard. I now have the wonderful decision of which flowers i want to plant. I also love that this makes it so that i don't have to set it in the ground with concrete. 5 stars!

This is perfect for out backyard project. This is the extra large planter box with the included light pole(also available to purchase the box separately if you dont need the pole). Florida is finally gettintlg into its cooler season so my husband is building a circular seating area with rocks and chairs. I only have 1 of the extra large planter boxes, but we will be alternating the large/extra large option around our seating area with cafe string lights once built. Assembly of the box took about 30-45 minutes, only because the instructions are somewhat vague, and the woodpieces arent marked and look very similar to eachother, so i had to disassemble them a couple times because i chose the wrong one. Once assembled, the box is sturdy and has spaces at the bottom for proper and effective drainage. The box is large enough so when filled with dirt or stone, provides more than enough weight to ensure they dont tip or blow over, and there are 3 pole sections so if you choose not to need it 10ft high, you can adjust it to be shorter. Will update this review with our final finished backyard.

A Good method to add string lights or other overhead wires to your space. The wooden box is 18" x 18" x 18" and made of pine and has a food safe coating for weather resistance. The box is un assembled but everything is pre-cut and it took my children only a few minutes to assemble it. A hex (Allen) wrench is included but you will need a Phillips head screwdriver. The painted tubes are threaded and come in 3 ft sections, so you could run this at 7ft, if you removed a section. This an excellent way to hang lights or run utility wires in a non-permeant or destructive fashion, which is good for renters or building tenants that cannot modify their building. This is also good to secure wind socks, flags, and shade sails when the base is loaded with rocks for ballast. The instructions say to add some rocks to the bottom for a drainage layer, then fill the top with soil. You could also add ballast at the bottom and put potted plants that overhang for an easy way to fill the planter without filling it with soil. Overall, this is a cleaver way to hang string lights or other items non-permanently.

The Excello Global 10 ft. Light pole with planter box is a versatile way to add some personality to your outdoor space. I love flower boxes and the options this one offers is great. It was very easy to assemble, I do recommend using a power drill for the screws. I decided I didn’t want to use the planter as designed and instead I inserted two plastic box planters on the top of the pole board. I then attached a clamp on hook to the pole board to add a bird feeder for the fall/winter season. I will use the 10 ft. light pole in the spring/summer for lights or an umbrella etc. I am very pleased with this box and pole design.

The EXCELLO GLOBAL PRODUCTS 10 foot string light pole and large 18 inch natural wooden planter box is a great idea for hanging string lights or even a bird feeder and having an attractive planter for a base. Filling the base with gravel, trap rock or a few large stones should weigh it down enough to hold the pole steady and may even hold an patio umbrella. I have not decided on what to coat the planter box with yet, I was thinking of a marine varnish or some type of oil finish. I have plenty of trap rock so I will fill it and then put in some landscaper fabric before putting in the top soil. I will place it in position first as it will be very heavy and not easy to move without using a hand cart. The assembly is fairly easy but you do have to read the instructions carefully so you use the correct wood pieces that almost look alike. The pieces leave a few small gaps and should not be a problem, it kind of makes it look a bit rustic. I am very pleased with this EXCELLO planter box and would expect to get many years of use from it as long as I keep it coated and off the dirt to protect the wood.

The Excello Planter Box with 10ft Pole is an excellent addition to any back yard or patio setting. The included pole was a welcomed feature for this planter. I had previously gotten the Extra Large Planter (18in) and the Large (14in) planter but the pole wasn't included. The pole is the prize! It is sturdy and easy to put together. The include carabiner for the hook at the top will make it easy to hang lights on the pole. The box is easy to assemble (read the directions) if you get the first boards screwed together correctly. But it is easy to correct ( I didn't read the directions on the other boxes). The only negatives I have found is the there needs to be a drain hole drilled in the bottom of the Pole Holder and support board for draining the water. Also, the tightening screws rust after 3 months (see picture). My wife loves the boxes and as soon as I buy the poles, we will hang the lights around the fire pit.

All the wood pieces are REAL wood, so that is a plus in my opinion. It took me approximately 30 minutes to assemble, I did use a screw gun, I was very careful to not over tighten. The instructions were written and illustrated and very easy to follow. I am going to sand and paint mine red. My husband said it was like putting together a very easy jigsaw puzzle. I am planning on buying some more to put around my garden with solar lights.

I found that by separating the pieces into sizes and shapes made it easier to put together. All you need is an electric screwdriver. All other hardware included. So you can use the planter to add some pretty flowers and then you also have a place to string your patio lights too. I do need to buy another one.
