We live in Houston where it is hot and humid most of the time. House was built in 1975 and has metal registers that produce condensation and look all black and nasty. We have replaced them with new metal ones but they eventually turn black and nasty. Our contractor suggested plastic and so far they are looking good. Hopefully, since they don't produce condensation, they will never get black and nasty.

Works well to replace the 20+ year old ones that had yellowed over time. Home Depot was the only store to have these. If you have this brand, you will likely need to replace with the same brand because the outside dimensions are larger than the typical metal type (e.g. the metal type will leave some unfinished area of the ceiling exposed).

The pegs on the underside broke right away. I would have returned it but threw the packaging away. Not worth the $14 paid. Very cheap product that wouldn’t have worked anyway. Would NOT recommend.
