Could I use this to secure an embroidered patch to vinyl/faux leather car seat covers? I wonder also how it would hold up to warm temps inside a car. If this wouldn't work, perhaps a suggestion of what 3M product would work. Thank you!

I've been making photo cards and want to attach a photo to a piece of cardstock with the spray. After that, is it safe to put it through a laminator? I know it's flammable in the container, but is it ok once on paper if exposed to heat?

            1 Answer |
            Answer This Question

Thanks for asking! We would not recommend the 3M(TM) Super 77(TM) Spray Adhesive be run through a laminator, as it has a temperature resistance of 110 degrees F. The product is not flammable once dry, and all the solvents have flashed off. If we can be of further assistance, please reach out to us at 1-800-328-6276 Mon-Fri 8am-4:30pm CT. If calling, please mention Case #37486875. Thank you.

                      Worked perfectly for me
We wanted to make a flannel board out of a magnetic whiteboard. I used the suggestion of another reviewer to clean the spray nozzle with Goof Off, taped the frame carefully, then sprayed a light, even coat of S77. There were perhaps a dozen bubbles in the 24" x 36" board after spraying but either they leveled out or were flattened during the smoothing on of the flannel. We had to reposition one of the ends and the S77 allowed us enough open time to do that. The fabric went on smoothly and looks perfect. This may not be a project for the faint of heart but Scotch 77 is ideal for one-side-sprayed home laminating we needed.

In my case I got less performance than expected.
The product covered about 60 % less area than the expected with a whole can.

                        GREAT product, follow directions carefully.
Be advised to wear a proper respirator for solvent based vapour, spray well away from sources of ignition (fan motors, HVAC, space heaters, switches, clothing that produces a static charge) and give this product up to two two weeks for off gassing. Used properly, this product has NEVER disappointed me, not in 30 years!

Worked almost too well for what I needed it for. (I.E. Gluing a indoor/outdoor rug to the inside of a metal gun cabinet). I tried to follow the directions and wait for the glue to become tacky, but it seemed to become almost too sticky after I waited so long. Make sure you do not need to move the parts around once contact is made of the two part being glued. All in All the stuff works really well on painted/glossed over metal and fabric projects.

Fantastic Product! I used this adhesive to mount artwork from some nearly 100-year old sheet music to a 4 mil matte board backing. This vintage music would otherwise have crumbled into dust in a few years time. I was glad that I was able to salvage this piece and about 50 others with this amazing adhesive! Easy to use, produces a secure bond between the backing and whatever you choose to bond (artwork, photos, just about anything). Totally met my expectations!
